2010 Florida Marlins Season
The Florida Marlins' 2010 season was the 18th season for the Major League Baseball franchise. The Marlins played their home games at Sun Life Stadium. On June 23, 2010, Fredi González was fired as manager and replaced with Edwin Rodríguez. Roy Halladay of the Philadelphia Phillies threw the 20th perfect game in baseball history, and 2nd of the season, at Sun Life Stadium, on May 29, 2010. They failed to make the playoffs for the 7th consecutive season. National League East
The National League East is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. Along with the American League Central it is one of two divisions to have every member win at least one World Series title. The division was created when the National League (along with the American League) added two expansion teams and divided into two divisions, East and West effective for the 1969 season. The National League's geographical alignment was rather peculiar as its partitioning was really more north and south instead of east and west. Two teams in the Eastern Time Zone, the Atlanta Braves and the Cincinnati Reds, were in the same division as teams on the Pacific coast. This was due to the demands of the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals, who refused to support expansion unless they were promised they would be kept together in the newly created East division. Roy Halladay
Harry Leroy "Roy" Halladay III (May 14, 1977 – November 7, 2017) was an American professional baseball pitcher, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies between 1998 and 2013. His nickname, "Doc", was coined by Toronto Blue Jays announcer Tom Cheek, and was a reference to Wild West gunslinger Doc Holliday. An eight-time All-Star, Halladay was one of the most dominant pitchers of his era. Known for his outstanding durability, he led the league in complete games seven times, the most of any pitcher whose career began after 1945. He also led the league in strikeout-to-walk ratio five times and innings pitched four times. Jhan Carlos Mariñez Fuente (pronounced "Yan MArin-yez") (born August 12, 1988) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. Christopher Adam Leroux (born April 14, 1984) is a Canadian former professional baseball pitcher and television personality. He played for the Florida Marlins, Pittsburgh Pirates, and New York Yankees in Major League Baseball (MLB) and for the Tokyo Yakult Swallows of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). David Hunter Jones (born January 10, 1984) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Boston Red Sox in 2009 and the Florida Marlins in 2010. Joshua Michael Johnson (born January 31, 1984), nicknamed "JJ", is a Canadian-American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Florida/Miami Marlins and Toronto Blue Jays from 2005 through 2013. Early career Johnson graduated from Jenks High School in Jenks, Oklahoma in 2002, when he was ''Tulsa World'' All-Metro Player of the Year. James Robert Houser, Jr. (born December 15, 1984) is an American former professional baseball pitcher, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Florida Marlins in 2010. High school Houser was an outstanding pitcher for Sarasota High School in Sarasota, Florida. During his senior year, he had an 11-1 record with a 1.40 ERA, striking out 118.
