2010 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup
The 2010 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup was the 5th edition of the tournament. It was held in Germany, who will also host the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup a year later from 13 July to 1 August 2010. Sixteen teams, comprising representatives from all six confederations, were taking part in the final competition, in which Germany had a guaranteed place as the host nation. Nigerian team ban On 30 June 2010, President of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan announced he would suspend the Nigeria Football Federation from FIFA competition for 2 years. This put the Falconets place at the competition in jeopardy. On 5 July 2010, the ban was lifted. Squads Final draw No two teams from the same confederation were to be drawn in the same group, with the exception of Group A, which would include two European teams. Verein für Leibesübungen Wolfsburg e. V., commonly known as VfL Wolfsburg, is a German women's football club based in Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony. The club is currently playing in the top division of Germany the Bundesliga. The club has won the UEFA Women's Champions League in 2013 and 2014. History VfR Eintracht Wolfsburg was founded in 1973. The team was a founding member of the Bundesliga. In 2003 the team joined VfL Wolfsburg. The first season under the new name was in 2003–04, which ended with an eighth place, the next season the team was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga in 12th place but gained direct promotion in the following 2005–06 season. Hamburger SV (women) is a women's association football club from Hamburg, Germany. It is part of the Hamburger SV club. History The women's section of Hamburger SV was created in 1970 and played in the Bundesliga continuously since the 2003-04 and 2011-12 seasons. Kim Kulig
Kim Nadine Kulig-Soyah (; born 9 April 1990) is a retired German footballer. She last played as a central midfielder or forward for 1. FFC Frankfurt and the German national team. Career Club Kulig, born in Herrenberg, Swabia, Baden-Württemberg, started her career at age eight at SV Poltringen, where she initially played in a boys' team. In 2001, she joined SV Unterjesingen, before moving to VfL Sindelfingen two years later. She made her second Bundesliga debut at Sindelfingen, where she scored 17 goals in her first season in the country's second division. In 2008, Kulig won the Fritz Walter medal in silver as the year's second best female junior player. That year she moved to the Bundesliga side Hamburger SV. Turid Knaak (born 24 January 1991) is a German former footballer. She played as an attacking midfielder or a striker for Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg and the Germany women's national team.
