2010 European Athletics Championships
The 2010 European Athletics Championships were the 20th edition of the European Athletics Championships, organised under the supervision of the European Athletic Association. They were held at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain from 27 July to 1 August 2010. Barcelona was the first Spanish city to host the European Championships. Barni was the mascot of the event, he was the main promotional tool of the Championship. His name comes from Barna and was designed by the workshop Dortoka. Olha Zavhorodnya (born 6 January 1983) is a Ukrainian athlete who specializes in the 400 metres and 800 metres. She is the most famous athlete to come from the small industrial town of Pryluky. She finished eighth in the 400 metres at the 2005 Summer Universiade, and also won a bronze medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay. At the 2007 Summer Universiade she won a gold medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay. She also competed at the 2007 World Championships, and was on the 2007 European Indoor Championships team that was disqualified. Marilyn Chinwenwa Okoro (born 23 September 1984, in London) is a British track and field athlete. She finished third in the 800 metres at both the 2007 and 2008 IAAF World Athletics Final.
