2010 Bbox Bouygues Telecom Season
The 2010 season for began in January with La Tropicale Amissa Bongo and ended in October at the Japan Cup. It is the team's first season as a UCI Professional Continental team, after being relegated from UCI ProTour status after the 2009 season. The team had been part of the ProTour since the ProTour's inception in 2005. The team carries wildcard status in 2010, meaning they are eligible to be invited to any ProTour event should the organizers wish to include them. The team's manager is former cyclist Jean-René Bernaudeau, who has led the team since its origination. The team nearly folded at the end of 2010, after a search for a title sponsor to replace the outgoing Bouygues group proved very difficult. Jean-René Bernaudeau
Jean-René Bernaudeau (born 8 July 1956) is a French former road bicycle racer, who competed professionally from 1978 to 1988. Bernaudeau currently works as the general manager for UCI ProTeam . In 1982, he said that dope controls in cycling were a breach of the freedom of work. Before turning professional he represented France competing in the individual road race event at the 1976 Summer Olympics. Career highlights include four wins in the Grand Prix du Midi Libre between 1980 and 1983, winning a Bronze medal at the 1979 World Championship road race, as well as wearing the yellow jersey as leader of the general classification for one day after the first stage in the 1979 Tour de France. He would also win the best young rider classification in the 1979 Tour and would go on to finish in 5th place overall. Anthony Charteau (born 4 June 1979 in Nantes) is a French former professional road bicycle racer, who competed as a professional between 2001 and 2013. His biggest career victory was winning the Mountains classification in the Tour de France in the 2010 edition, which was his major breakthrough. Pierre Rolland (born 10 October 1986) is a French professional road racing cyclist, who rides for UCI ProTeam . He is particularly known for his aggressive style of racing in the mountains. He is a two-time stage winner in the Tour de France and a stage winner in the Giro d'Italia. His most famous win to date came at Alpe d'Huez in the 2011 Tour de France. With his win on the legendary mountain, Rolland has his name on the sign at turn 16 together with Dutchman Joop Zoetemelk. His best overall finishes in a Grand Tour include 4th overall at the 2014 Giro d'Italia and 8th overall at the 2012 Tour de France.
