2010 Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2010 Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball Tournament took place from March 3–6, 2010 at University Center in Macon, Georgia. Format The top eight eligible men's basketball teams in the Atlantic Sun Conference received a berth in the conference tournament. After the 20 game conference season, teams are seeded by conference record. The East Tennessee State Buccaneers receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Since there was a four-way tie for the conference regular season title, the second seeded Jacksonville Dolphins, who advanced the furthest in the tournament, will receive an automatic bid to the NIT. Florida Gulf Coast and South Carolina-Upstate were not eligible to compete in this year's tournament due to NCAA reclassification. Bracket Asterisk denotes game ended in overtime. University Center (Mercer University)
The Hawkins Arena is the basketball arena on the campus of Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, United States. The arena is located in the University Center, a large multi-purpose facility centrally located on the university campus. History The University Center opened in 2004. The $40 million, center, houses Mercer's athletics department, a 3,500-seat basketball arena, an indoor pool, work-out facilities, intramural basketball courts, offices, a food court, and numerous meeting facilities. Mercer's baseball and softball fields are located adjacent to the center along with the university's tennis complex and football-lacrosse complex Moye Complex. Campbell Fighting Camels Men's Basketball
The Campbell Fighting Camels basketball team is the men's basketball team that represent the Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina. The school's team currently competes in the CAA. The team's most recent, and only appearance in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament was in 1992. After struggling for several seasons, the Fighting Camels finally broke through in the 2009–2010 season. Campbell tied for first in the regular season Atlantic Sun standings. However, their bid for an NCAA tournament bid came up short, as they were eliminated in the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament. ASUN Men's Basketball Tournament
The ASUN Conference men's basketball tournament (formerly known as the Trans America Athletic Conference men's basketball tournament between 1979 and 2001) is the conference championship tournament in basketball for the ASUN Conference, formerly known as the Trans America Athletic Conference (TAAC) and Atlantic Sun Conference. The tournament has been held every year since 1979, except for 1992–93. It is a single-elimination tournament and seeding is based on regular season records. The winner, declared conference champion, receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA men's basketball tournament, as long as it is eligible for NCAA-sponsored postseason play. The East Tennessee State Buccaneers men's basketball team represents East Tennessee State University (ETSU), located in Johnson City, Tennessee, in men's college basketball. The North Florida Ospreys are the athletic teams of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. The Ospreys compete in the ASUN Conference in NCAA Division I. Mercer Bears
The Mercer Bears are the athletic teams of Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, United States. Mercer is the only private university in Georgia with an NCAA Division I athletic program and fields teams in eight men's and nine women's sports. The university competes in the Southern Conference for most sports. In 2013, the football team competed in the Pioneer Football League. The Belmont Bruins men's basketball team represents Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. The Kennesaw State Owls fields 17 varsity athletics teams, competing for Kennesaw State University. After spending ten years in Division II's Peach Belt Conference, the university fully transitioned to Division I status in the National Collegiate Athletic Association at the beginning of the 2009–10 season. 2010 National Invitation Tournament
The 2010 National Invitation Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 32 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I teams that were not selected to participate in the 2010 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. The 73rd annual tournament began on March 16 on campus sites and ended on April 1 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
