2009–10 Vanderbilt Commodores Women's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 Vanderbilt Commodores women's basketball team will represent Vanderbilt University in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I basketball season. The Commodores are a member of the Southeastern Conference and will attempt to win the NCAA championship. Memorial Gymnasium (Vanderbilt University)
Memorial Gymnasium is a multi-purpose facility located in Nashville, Tennessee. Usually called Memorial Gym or simply Memorial, the building is located on the western end of the Vanderbilt University campus. It was built in 1952 and currently has a seating capacity of 14,326. It serves as home court for the school's men's and women's basketball programs, and will also serve as the home of Vanderbilt's upcoming women's volleyball program, scheduled to begin play in 2025. Construction and unusual design Memorial Gymnasium was built in the early 1950s, designed by Edwin A. Keeble. It was dedicated as the campus memorial to students and alumni killed in World War II; a plaque commemorating these people is displayed in the lobby. Christina Wirth
Christina Wirth (born April 18, 1987) is an American basketball player who most recently played for the Indiana Fever of the WNBA. She is the daughter of Alan Wirth, a former major league baseball player with the San Francisco Giants and the Oakland Athletics. Playing career High school Wirth played her high school basketball at Seton Catholic in Arizona. While at Seton Catholic she compiled 2,550 points, 1,173 rebounds, 312 steals, 266 assists and 120 blocks. Jennifer Risper (born March 11, 1987) is an American professional basketball player. Playing career High school Risper played high school basketball at Canyon Springs. As a senior, she averaged 15.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 3.2 steals. She was named All-Ivy league and All-Riverside County First Team, along with the CIF Division 1A Co-Most Valuable Player. Other honors included Cal-Hi Sports All-State Third Team, and the L.A. Jence Ann Rhoads (born 31 December 1988) is an American professional handball player, a member of the United States women's national handball team and former professional basketball player . Personal life Rhoads mother, Melinda Rhoads, played for the United States national handball team for 10 years and was a member of the 1984 U.S. Women's Olympic Handball Team. Lauren Lueders (born September 8, 1987) is an American basketball player. Playing career High school Lueders played her high school basketball at Saxony Lutheran in Missouri. She was a three-year starter for the Crusaders boys' basketball team. It was a small, private school in Jackson, Missouri that did not adopt a girls' basketball team until 2006. In her senior year, she was named the team captain. In her three years, the Crusaders had a 75-24 record. The 2009–10 NCAA Division I women's basketball season began in November 2009 and ended with the 2010 NCAA Women's Division I Basketball Tournament's championship game on April 6, 2010 at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The 2009 Vanderbilt Commodores football team represented Vanderbilt University during the 2009–10 college football season. The team's head coach was Bobby Johnson, who served his eighth season as the Commodores' head coach. Vanderbilt has been a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) since the league's inception in 1932, and has participated in that conference's Eastern Division since its formation in 1992.
