2009–10 Stanford Cardinal Men's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 Stanford Cardinal men's basketball team represented Stanford University during the 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cardinal were led by second year head coach Johnny Dawkins, and played their home games at Maples Pavilion as a member of the Pacific-10 Conference. Previous season The Cardinal started the year off strong starting 10–0 in non-conference play, but couldn't keep up in conference play ending up under .500. In the Pac-10 tournament they received a 9 seed and would win in the first round against Oregon State and would face the #1 seed Washington and would lose 73–85. Stanford received a bid to the College Basketball Invitational as a #1 seed in the Midwest and a first round opponent of Boise State. After the win against Boise State, Stanford hit the road and traveled to Wichita, Kansas to face the Shockers and would come out with a 70–56 victory. Johnny Dawkins
Johnny Earl Dawkins Jr. (born September 28, 1963) is an American basketball coach and former player who is the head coach for the UCF men's basketball team. From 2008 to 2016, he was the head coach of Stanford. He was a two-time All-American and national player of the year as a senior in 1986 while at Duke from 1982 to 1986. Dawkins subsequently played nine seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the San Antonio Spurs (1986–1989), Philadelphia 76ers (1989–1994), and Detroit Pistons (1994–1995). From 1998 to 2008, he served as an assistant basketball coach at his alma mater, Duke. Playing career College Dawkins was born and raised in Washington, D.C. He played basketball at Mackin Catholic High School in Washington, D.C. before enrolling at Duke University. Burlingame, California
Burlingame () is a city in San Mateo County, California. It is located on the San Francisco Peninsula and has a significant shoreline on San Francisco Bay. The city is named after diplomat Anson Burlingame and is known for its numerous eucalyptus groves, high quality of life, walkable downtown area, and public school system. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 31,386. History Burlingame is situated on land previously owned by San Francisco-based merchant William Davis Merry Howard. The French American International School (FAIS) is a private co-educational school for PK–12 grade in San Francisco, California, U.S.. Los Alamitos High School
Los Alamitos High School (also known as Los Al) is a public school for grades 9 to 12 located in Los Alamitos, California, and also serving the city of Seal Beach and the community of Rossmoor. It is the only traditional high school in the Los Alamitos Unified School District; the far smaller Laurel High School serves as a continuation school and as the district office site. Mater Dei High School is a private, Catholic, co-educational secondary school in Santa Ana, California. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange. Mater Dei is known for its strong sports programs, especially in football, and for its multiple graduates who have won the Heisman Trophy.
