The 2009–10 season was Nottingham Forest's second season in the Football League Championship, following promotion from League One in the 2007–08 season, and after spending three years in the third tier. Richard Tait, Hamza Bencherif, Liam Hook, Tom Sharpe, Ryan Whitehurst, Emile Sinclair and Paddy Gamble were all released with Sinclair the only player to make first team appearances. Ian Breckin was also told he would play no part next season. Another three fringe players were given new contracts, Mickael Darnet, Shane Redmond and Arron Mitchell. Bamberdele Olusegun Adebola (born 23 June 1975) is a Nigerian retired footballer. Including loans, he has played for 16 clubs in his career, with his longest spells at Crewe Alexandra, Birmingham City and Coventry City. David McGoldrick
David James McGoldrick (born 29 November 1987) is a professional footballer who plays as a striker for club Derby County. He won 14 caps for the Republic of Ireland national team between 2014 and 2020, scoring one international goal. A trainee at Notts County, he made his senior debut in 2004, before being signed by Southampton later in the year. He spent five years with the "Saints", also playing on loan for Notts County in 2005, and both AFC Bournemouth and Port Vale in 2007. He transferred to Nottingham Forest in 2009 for a £1 million fee. Emile Sinclair
Emile Anthony Sinclair (born 29 December 1987) is an English semi-professional footballer who plays as a striker. Career Nottingham Forest Born in Leeds, West Yorkshire, Sinclair started his career with Bradford City's youth system in 2005 before being released and signing for Nottingham Forest in 2006. The forward was given chances, along with other young players, in Forest's 2007 pre-season. Sinclair made his professional debut away at Chester City in the first round of the League Cup. Hamza Bencherif ( ar, حمزة بن شريف; born 9 February 1988) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender or midfielder for Northern Premier League club Worksop Town where he is club captain. David Pleat
David John Pleat (born 15 January 1945) is an English football player turned manager, and sports commentator. Pleat made 185 Football League appearances for five clubs, scoring 26 goals. He had two spells as manager of Luton Town, and four as manager of Tottenham Hotspur (three of which were as caretaker manager). Early life Pleat was born in Nottingham, England, and is of Jewish descent. His father anglicised the family name from Plotz. Playing career As a winger, Pleat represented England at schoolboy level. Steve Devine (footballer)
Stephen Devine (born 11 December 1964) is a Northern Irish former footballer who played in the 1980s and 1990s as a full-back. He first played for Tyrone County in Northern Ireland. His professional career started his career at Wolves but never played a first team match, although he did play for Northern Ireland at youth level. In March 1983 he joined Derby County, appearing in 9 league matches as the Rams were relegated to the then Third Division. He made one further appearance in the following season before joining Stockport County in summer 1985. Courtney Huw Fairclough (born 12 April 1964) is an English football coach and former professional footballer. As a player, he was a defender from 1981 to 2001. He most notably played for Nottingham Forest and Leeds United. He also played for Tottenham Hotspur, Bolton Wanderers, Notts County and York City. He was capped 7 times by the England U21 side. Julian Timothy Darby (born 3 October 1967) is an English football coach and former professional footballer who is the under-16's coach of Bolton Wanderers.
