2009–10 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Rankings
Two human polls comprise the 2009–10 NCAA Division I women's basketball rankings, the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll, in addition to various publications' preseason polls. The AP poll is currently a poll of sportswriters, while the ''USA Today'' Coaches' Poll is a poll of college coaches. The AP conducts polls weekly through the end of the regular season and conference play, while the Coaches poll conducts a final, post-NCAA tournament poll as well. 2009–10 Connecticut Huskies Women's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 Connecticut Huskies women's basketball team represented the University of Connecticut in the 2009–2010 NCAA Division I basketball season. 2009–10 South Carolina Gamecocks Women's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 South Carolina Gamecocks women's basketball team represented the University of South Carolina in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Gamecocks were coached by Dawn Staley, in her second year, and played their home games at Colonial Life Arena. They competed as members of the Southeastern Conference. Gamecock freshman and future WNBA player Kelsey Bone became the first South Carolina player to be named SEC Newcomer of the Year, before then transferring to Texas A&M. South Carolina finished the season with a final record of 14–15. They lost to Ole Miss in the SEC Tournament and were not invited to the NCAA Tournament. Hartford Hawks Women's Basketball
The Hartford Hawks women's basketball team is the basketball team that represents the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut, United States. The school's team currently competes as an Independent. The school began the women's basketball team in 1975 as a Division III school. The program moved to Division II and was a member of the Northeast-10 Conference (originally Northeast-7) between 1980 and 1984. The school transitioned to Division I in 1984, playing as an independent school in 1984–85, and then becoming part of the Seaboard Conference in 1985–86. The Seaboard Conference became the North Atlantic Conference in 1989, and changed their name to America East in 1996. UCLA Bruins Women's Basketball
The UCLA Bruins women's basketball program was established in 1974. The current coach is Cori Close. The team was a member of the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) until joining the NCAA in 1984. The UCLA Bruins women's basketball team won the AIAW National Championship in 1978, and a banner commemorating the championship hangs in Pauley Pavilion, the current home of the Bruins basketball teams.
