2009–10 Murray State Racers Men's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 Murray State Racers men's basketball team represented Murray State University in the 2009–10 college basketball season. This was head coach Billy Kennedy's fourth season at Murray State. The Racers competed in the Ohio Valley Conference and played their home games at the Regional Special Events Center, also known simply as the ''RSEC''. They finished the season 31–5, 17–1 in OVC play to capture the regular season championship. They also won the 2010 Ohio Valley Conference men's basketball tournament to earn the conference's automatic bid to the 2010 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. They earned a 13 seed in the West Region where they upset 4 seed and AP #21 Vanderbilt in the first round before losing to 5 seed and AP #11 Butler in the second round. Billy Kennedy (basketball Coach)
William Joseph Kennedy Jr. (born February 2, 1964) is an American basketball coach who is an assistant coach for Wichita State University men's basketball team. Previously, Kennedy was the head coach of the Texas A&M University men's basketball team. He took over the position vacated by Mark Turgeon in May 2011. Prior to this, he held the same position at Murray State University for five seasons. Kennedy previously held the same position at Centenary College of Louisiana, Centenary and Southeastern Louisiana University, Southeastern Louisiana. He has served 13 seasons as a collegiate head coach and 13 as an assistant. Edward Daniel (born June 13, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for Scafati Basket of the Serie A2 Basket. He played college basketball at Murray State University. College career After starring at Woodlawn High School in Birmingham, Daniel committed to play college basketball for the Murray State Racers in Murray, Kentucky and was a key member of the winningest recruiting class in Racer history. As a junior, Daniel was a starter on the Racers' 2011–12 team, which won 23 straight games to start the season and went 31–2 overall. As a senior the following year, Daniel averaged a double-double (13.2 points and 10 rebounds per game) and was named first-team All-Ohio Valley Conference. Gallatin, Tennessee
Gallatin is a city in and the county seat of Sumner County, Tennessee. The population was 30,278 at the 2010 census and 44,431 at the 2020 census. Danero Axel Thomas (born 8 April 1986) is an American and Icelandic basketball player who currently plays for Breiðablik in the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild karla. Mojave High School
Mojave High School, is a nine-month public high school that is part of Clark County School District located in North Las Vegas, Nevada. After a year of sharing a campus at Cheyenne High School on a "double session" schedule where Cheyenne students attended from 6 am to 12 pm and Mojave students attended 1 pm to 7 pm (while Mojave was under construction), the inaugural class, class of 2000, were the only class to not have an upper-class. The school began with only the Freshman class, who became the first graduating class in 2000. Mayfield, Kentucky
Mayfield is a home rule–class city and the county seat of Graves County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 10,017 as of the 2020 United States Census. Biloxi High School is the only public high school located in the city of Biloxi, Mississippi. It has approximately 1,650 students and 150 faculty. Isaiah Canaan (pronounced Cannon; born May 21, 1991) is an American professional basketball player for Olympiacos of the Greek Basket League and the EuroLeague. He was an All-American college player at Murray State University. College career Canaan, a 6'0" guard from Biloxi, Mississippi, went to Murray State after leading Biloxi High School to the 5A Mississippi state championship as a senior.
