2009–10 Minnesota Wild Season
The 2009–10 Minnesota Wild season was the team's tenth season in the National Hockey League (NHL). On May 22, Chuck Fletcher was named as the new general manager of the Wild, replacing Doug Risebrough. On June 16, the Wild named Todd Richards as the new head coach, replacing Jacques Lemaire, who had resigned from the position in April. On August 30, the Wild unveiled their new third jersey, which they debuted on October 21 against the Colorado Avalanche. The team ended its ''de facto'' policy of rotating the captaincy monthly by naming Mikko Koivu the team's permanent captain. Preseason Regular season The Wild allowed the most shorthanded goals in the League, with 13. Western Conference (NHL)
The Western Conference () is one of two conferences in the National Hockey League (NHL) used to divide teams. Its counterpart is the Eastern Conference (NHL), Eastern Conference. History Originally named the Clarence Campbell Conference (or Campbell Conference for short), it was created in 1974–75 NHL season, 1974 when the NHL realigned its teams into two conferences and four divisions. Because the new conferences and divisions had little to do with North American geography, geographical references were removed. The conferences and divisions were re-aligned in 1981–82 NHL season, 1981 to better reflect the geographical locations of the teams, but the existing names were retained with the Campbell Conference becoming the conference for the NHL's westernmost teams. The Minnesota Wild are a professional ice hockey team based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The Wild compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Central Division (NHL), Central Division in the Western Conference (NHL), Western Conference. Kyle Brodziak
Kyle Brodziak (born May 25, 1984) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. He previously played for the Edmonton Oilers, Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues. He was selected in the seventh round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, 214th overall, by the Oilers after being passed over in the 2002 draft. Playing career Junior career Brodziak was drafted 14th overall in the 1999 WHL Bantam Draft by the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League (WHL), where he spent his entire junior career. The Edmonton Oilers are a professional ice hockey team based in Edmonton. Guillaume Latendresse
Guillaume Latendresse (born May 24, 1987) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He was selected in the second round, 45th overall, by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Lantendresse also played for the Minnesota Wild and Ottawa Senators. Playing career As a youth, Latendresse played in the 2001 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the minor ice hockey team from Collège Charles-Lemoyne in Sainte-Catherine, Quebec. Anton Valerievich Khudobin (; born 7 May 1986) is a Kazakhstani-born Russian professional ice hockey goaltender who is currently a free agent. He last played with HC Sibir Novosibirsk of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Nicknamed "Dobby", Khudobin was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the seventh round, 206th overall, at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, playing for the organization for three-and-a-half years before joining the Boston Bruins via a trade in 2011. Wade Roger Dubielewicz (born January 30, 1979) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He played 43 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) between 2003 and 2010 with three teams: the Columbus Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild, and New York Islanders. The rest of his career, which lasted from 2003 to 2011, was spent mainly in the American Hockey League. Niklas Oskar Bäckström (; born 13 February 1978) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey goaltender and current goaltending coach for the Columbus Blue Jackets.
