The 2009–10 Liga Femenina de Baloncesto was the 47th edition of the Spanish premier championship for women's basketball teams. Defending champion Ros Casares again defeated CB Avenida in the final to win its fourth title in a row, an overall seventh. CB Rivas and CDB Zaragoza also qualified for the championship play-offs. Ros Casares, Avenida and Rivas qualified for the 2010–11 Euroleague, while Zaragoza and CB Islas Canarias qualified for the 2010–11 Eurocup. On the other hand, Real Canoe and CB Estudiantes were relegated. The Liga Femenina de Baloncesto, also known as Liga Femenina Endesa for sponsorship reasons, is the highest level of sports league, league competition for women's basketball in Spain. It is the women's equivalent of the men's Liga ACB and is run by the Spanish Basketball Federation. The league was founded in 1964 and is played under FIBA rules. Club Deportivo Bosco–Real Club Celta de Vigo Baloncesto is a Spanish women's basketball club from Vigo related to soccer, football club Celta de Vigo, that currently plays in the Liga Femenina de Baloncesto 2, Second League. History The club was founded in 1965 as Club Estudiantes de Vigo and became a section of the local football club Celta in 1969. Celta Vigo won three Liga Femenina de Baloncesto, national leagues and three Copa de la Reina de baloncesto, national cups between 1977 and 1984 including a double in 1982. Club Bàsquet Puig d'en Valls, popularly known as Bàsquet PDV and also known as Palacio de Congresos de Ibiza for sponsorship reasons, is a Spanish women's basketball club from Santa Eulària des Riu, Ibiza. History Founded in 1996, it played in the LFB between 2003 and 2012, when it was relegated to the Liga de Baloncesto de Ibiza. Puig d'en Valls qualified for the championship play-offs in 2003, 2005 and 2008; in the latter it was 3rd, its best result in the regular season.
