2009–10 Creighton Bluejays Men's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 Creighton Bluejays men's basketball team represented Creighton University in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Led by head coach Dana Altman in his 16th and subsequently final season as he would take the job at Oregon following the season. Creighton would then hire Greg McDermott as his successor. In 2009–10, the Bluejays would end the regular season with a record of 16–15 and despite losing in the first round of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament, they would qualify for the CIT and make their way to the semifinal round before losing to eventual champion Missouri State. Dana Altman
Dana Dean Altman (born June 16, 1958) is an American college basketball coach who is the head coach of the Oregon Ducks men's basketball, Oregon Ducks men's team. Previously he was head coach at Creighton Bluejays men's basketball, Creighton, Kansas State Wildcats men's basketball, Kansas State and Marshall Thundering Herd men's basketball, Marshall. Altman has won conference coach of the year awards at each school he has coached, and has led his teams to 15 appearances in the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship, NCAA tournament. Bradley Braves
The Bradley Braves are the intercollegiate athletics teams of Bradley University, located in Peoria, Illinois, United States. The Braves' athletic program is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) and competes at the NCAA Division I level. The Bradley mascot is Kaboom! the Gargoyle, and the school colors are red and white. The 2009–10 Missouri Valley Conference men's basketball season marks the 101st season of Missouri Valley Conference basketball. Preseason In the preseason, Northern Iowa was the conference favorite – returning all five starters and 9 of the top 10 players from their MVC championship team. UNI received all but one first-place vote in the preseason poll of MVC coaches, media, and sports information directors. Creighton received the other first place vote. The preseason player of the year was 2009 MVC conference tournament MVP Osiris Eldridge of Illinois State – who tested the NBA draft waters over the offseason. JQH Arena
Great Southern Bank Arena (originally known as JQH Arena) is an indoor arena in Springfield, Missouri. The arena opened in 2008. It is located on the campus of Missouri State University and is the home of the Missouri State Bears and Lady Bears basketball teams; it is often referred to by MSU students as "the Q". The Fairfield Stags are the athletic programs representing Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut. South Dakota Coyotes
The South Dakota Coyotes, also known as the USD Coyotes (locally pronounced ; ), are the athletic teams for the University of South Dakota. Their team colors are vermilion and white. They have been members of Summit League of the NCAA's Division I since the 2011–12 school year. The Enterprise Center is an 18,096-seat arena located in downtown St. Louis, Missouri, United States. Popularly referred to as "Arch Madness", the 2010 Missouri Valley Conference men's basketball tournament as part of the 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season was played in St. Louis, Missouri March 4–7, 2010. Darian DeVries
Darian Dale DeVries (born April 7, 1975) is the head men's basketball coach at Drake University. Coaching history A native of Aplington, Iowa, DeVries played collegiately at Northern Iowa. After graduating, he joined Creighton University as a graduate manager in its men's basketball program. After three seasons as a graduate manager, DeVries was named assistant coach in 2001. He stayed with Creighton following the departure of Dana Altman and the hire of Greg McDermott. DeVries became a head coach for the first time when he accepted the job at former conference rival Drake in March 2018. DeVries' steady hand at the helm of the Bulldogs helped the program start the season with 9–2 record, the program's best open to a season since 2007–08. Missouri State Bears Men's Basketball
The Missouri State Bears basketball team is the NCAA Division I men's basketball program of Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. The Bears compete in the Missouri Valley Conference.
