Futsal In Portugal
The Portuguese futsal league is divided into divisions. The top teams play in the 1ª Divisão (1st Division). In each division, a team plays all other teams twice, once at home and once away and 1ª Divisão the final phase is played under the playoff system. The Portuguese league teams compete in Europe under UEFA, most notably in the UEFA Futsal Cup. The teams also compete in a domestic cup competition each year, called the Portuguese Cup. The winners of the 1ª Divisão play the winners of the Portuguese Cup in the Portuguese SuperCup. Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament. Clube Futebol Os Belenenses is an amateur futsal team based in Lisbon, Portugal. It plays in Liga Placard . Their nickname comes from the fact that in their first two seasons they won two trophies (Campeonato Nacional da 3ª Divisão and Campeonato Nacional da 2ª Divisão). In 2009-10 they win their most important title, the Taça de Portugal de Futsal for the first time, beating Benfica in the final. Benfica scored first, but Diego Sol equalized in the second half, Marcelinho in the final seconds of Extra time scored the decisive goal. Notable players included Marcão, Diego Sol, Pedro Cary, Paulinho and Marcelinho.
