2009 Women's EuroHockey Nations Championship
The 2009 Women's EuroHockey Nations Championship was the 9th edition of the women's field hockey championship organised by the European Hockey Federation. It was held from August 22 to August 29, 2009 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The last two placers will be relegated to EuroHockey Nations Trophy in 2011. Women's EuroHockey Nations Championship
The Women's EuroHockey Nations Championship is an international women's field hockey competition organized by the European Hockey Federation (EHF) for the top eight European national teams. It is the top division of the EuroHockey Championships. The inaugural tournament took place in 1984. When the tournament is held close to the Summer Olympic games or the Women's Hockey World Cup, the winner of the tournament is awarded a place in those competitions. Format The tournament is played in Divisions normally consisting of eight teams. The top division, containing the eight best national teams, is called the EuroHockey Nations Championship, below which there is the EuroHockey Championship II, then the EuroHockey Championship III, then the EuroHockey Championship IV, and so on. Qualification National teams qualify for a division based on their performance in the previous competition. Natascha Keller
Natascha Keller (born 3 July 1977 in West Berlin) is a German retired field hockey striker. She won a gold medal as a member of the German team at the 2004 Summer Olympics. She also competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics, 2000 Summer Olympics, 2008 Summer Olympics and 2012 Summer Olympics. In 1999 she received an award from the International Hockey Federation. She is the daughter of retired Olympic field hockey player Carsten Keller and granddaughter of player Erwin Keller. Her brothers Andreas Keller and Florian Keller, like her father and herself, were on gold medal winning field hockey teams. Keller has accumulated over 400 games for the Germany women's national field hockey team, which makes her the country's most capped female player in history. Anke Kühne ( Kühn, born 28 February 1981) is a field hockey player from Germany, who played for the German national team and won the gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. She is married to German sculler Tobias Kühne. She has represented Germany in 181 matches. Holly Cram (born 30 April 1984) is a Scottish field hockey forward. She won 140 caps playing for the Women's National Team. Cram was born in Glasgow and went to school at Glasgow Academy. She studied at the University of Edinburgh, graduating with an honours degree in literature. She then completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Physical Education at the University of Strathclyde. Rocío Ybarra Solaun (born 26 December 1984) is a field hockey defender from Spain, who represented her native country at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, the 2008 Games in Beijing and the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro, where she was captain (Spain did not qualify in 2012).
