2009 UCLA Bruins Football Team
The 2009 UCLA Bruins football team represented the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the 2009 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Under second-year head coach Rick Neuheisel, they opened the season at the Rose Bowl on September 5 against San Diego State. The last game of the season, against USC was moved from the "Championship Saturday" weekend of December. Instead, the UCLA–USC rivalry game was played on Saturday, November 28 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Following the regular season, which they finished with six wins and six losses, the Bruins were invited to play in the 2009 EagleBank Bowl, thanks to the normal tie-in Army not being bowl eligible at 5–7. UCLA defeated Temple 30–21 to finish the season with a winning record. All regular season UCLA football games were broadcast on the UCLA ISP Sports Network (AM 570 KLAC in Southern California) and SIRIUS Satellite Radio nationally. Rick Neuheisel
Richard Gerald Neuheisel Jr. (; born February 7, 1961) is an American football analyst, coach, former player, and attorney. He served as the head football coach at the University of Colorado Boulder from 1995 to 1999, at the University of Washington from 1999 to 2002, and at his alma mater, the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), from 2008 to 2011, compiling a career college football coaching record of 87–59. From 2005 to 2007, Neuheisel was an assistant coach with the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL), as quarterbacks coach for two seasons and offensive coordinator for one. He formerly served as head coach for the Arizona Hotshots of the Alliance of American Football (AAF) before the collapse of the league. Randall Carroll (born April 13, 1991) is a former American football wide receiver and defensive back. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles, having played for the UCLA Bruins from 2009 to 2011, but being dismissed for academic reasons. High school career Carroll attended Cathedral High School in Los Angeles, California, where he played running back, cornerback and wide receiver. In his senior year, he totaled 31 catches for 564 yards and four touchdowns, and also carried the ball 73 times for 543 rushing yards and two scores.
