2009 Ohio State Buckeyes Football Team
The 2009 Ohio State Buckeyes football team represented Ohio State University in the 2009 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Buckeyes were coached by Jim Tressel and played their home games in Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. They finished with a record of 11–2 (7–1 Big Ten) and won the Big Ten Conference championship. They represented the Big Ten in the 2010 Rose Bowl, which they won, 26–17, over the Pacific-10 Conference champion, Oregon. The Buckeyes became the first, and only, team to defeat five 10-win teams in the same season (Navy, Wisconsin, Penn State, Iowa, and Oregon). Jim Tressel
James Patrick Tressel (born December 5, 1952) is an American college football coach and university administrator who is currently the president of Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio. Before becoming an administrator, Tressel was the head football coach of the Youngstown State Penguins and later the Ohio State Buckeyes in a career that spanned from 1986 until 2010. Tressel's teams earned several national championships during the course of his career, earning him numerous accolades. Tressel was born in Mentor, Ohio and attended Baldwin–Wallace College, where he played football as quarterback under his father, Lee Tressel. Tressel succeeded Bill Narduzzi as Youngstown State's fourth head football coach in 1986 and remained there until 2000. In 2001, he was named John Cooper's successor as the head coach of Ohio State. The Chicago Bears are a professional American football team based in Chicago. Marcus Freeman (linebacker)
Marcus Freeman (born January 10, 1986) is an American football coach and former linebacker who is currently the head coach at the University of Notre Dame. He previously served as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Notre Dame in 2021. Freeman has also previously served as an assistant coach at the University of Cincinnati, Purdue University, Kent State University, and Ohio State University. Brian Jack Hartline (born November 22, 1986) is a former American football wide receiver who currently serves as the offensive coordinator at Ohio State. He played college football at Ohio State, and was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He was also a member of the Cleveland Browns. Early years Hartline attended GlenOak High School, where he both played football and ran track for four years. He began his football career as a quarterback, but in the fourth game of his sophomore year, he switched positions to wide receiver. The Kansas City Chiefs are a professional American football team based in Kansas City, Missouri. Donald David Washington III (born July 28, 1986) is a former American football defensive back. He played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes and was drafted in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. He played high school football at Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis. Washington has also played for the Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Brian Anthony Robiskie (born December 3, 1987) is a former American football wide receiver. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He played college football at Ohio State. Robiskie has also played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Detroit Lions, and Tennessee Titans.
