2009 Men's European Volleyball Championship
2009 Men's European Volleyball Championship was held from September 3 to September 13, 2009 in İzmir and Istanbul, Turkey. Poland claimed their first Men's European Volleyball Championship title with an undefeated run. The final was concluded with a 3-1 victory against France. Bulgaria captured the bronze medal after defeating Russia 3-0. Poland's Piotr Gruszka was named the tournament's most valuable player. Teodor Salparov ( bg, Теодор Салпаров born 16 August 1982) is a Bulgarian volleyball player, a member of the Bulgaria men's national volleyball team and the Bulgarian club VC Hebar Pazardzhik. He was a participant in the Olympic Games (Beijing 2008, London 2012), and was a bronze medalist in the 2006 World Championship, 2007 World Cup and 2009 European Championship.
