2009 ACC Women's Twenty20 Championship
The 2009 ACC Women's Twenty20 Championship was an international women's cricket tournament held in Malaysia from 3 to 9 July 2009. It was the first women's tournament organised by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) to feature the Twenty20 format of the sport. Twelve teams participated in the tournament, including five that were making their international debuts (Bhutan, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar). The teams were divided into two groups, one of which was topped by Thailand and the other by Hong Kong. Both of those teams eventually progressed to the final at Kinrara Academy Oval, where Hong Kong defeated Thailand by four runs to record their first ACC women's title. The Asian Cricket Council also known as ACC is a cricket organisation which was established in 1983, to promote and develop the sport of cricket in Asia. Subordinate to the International Cricket Council, the council is the continent's regional administrative body, and currently consists of 26 member associations. Jay Shah is the current president of Asian Cricket Council. History The council was formed as the Asian Cricket Conference in New Delhi, India, on 19 September 1983, with the original members being Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, and Sri Lanka. Bowl-out
A bowl-out (sometimes termed a bowl-off) was used as a tiebreaker in various forms of limited overs cricket to decide a match that would otherwise end in a tie. Five bowlers from each side deliver one or two balls each at an unguarded wicket (three stumps). If each team has hit the same number of wickets after the first five bowlers per side, the bowling continues and is decided by sudden death. The bowl-out is no longer used as a tie breaker in ICC matches or domestic professional leagues, as batting has no effect on the result of the otherwise tied game. Rubina Chhetry ( ne, रुबिना क्षेत्री; born 26 November 1993) is a Nepali cricketer who plays for the women's national cricket team as a right-arm medium pace bowler. Bandar Kinrara () is a township in Puchong, Selangor, Malaysia. The Ayer Hitam Forest Reserve is situated to its south.
