2008–09 Xavier Musketeers Men's Basketball Team
The 2008–09 Xavier Musketeers men's basketball team represented Xavier University in the 2008–09 college basketball season. They were led by head coach Sean Miller in his fifth and final season at Xavier. The Musketeers were members of the Atlantic 10 Conference and played their home games at the Cintas Center. Xavier finished the season with a record of 27–8, 12–4 in A-10 play to win the regular season championship. The Musketeers lost in the quarterfinals of the A-10 tournament to Saint Louis. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as a #4 seed. The Musketeers defeated Portland State and Wisconsin to advance to the Sweet Sixteen before losing to Pittsburgh. Sean Miller
Sean Edward Miller (born November 17, 1968) is an American college basketball coach who currently serves as head coach of the Xavier Musketeers men's basketball, Xavier Musketeers. He previously was in that position from 2004 to 2009, after which he took the head coach position for the Arizona Wildcats men's basketball, Arizona Wildcats, which he held until being fired in 2021. Miller is a three-time gold medalist as a member of USA Basketball: once as a player, once as an assistant coach, and once as head coach. Miller has won five league Coach of the Year Awards: once in the Atlantic 10 Conference, A10, three in the Pac-12, and once as USA Basketball Coach of the Year. IPFW Mastodons Men's Basketball
The Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons men's basketball team is the intercollegiate men's basketball team that represents Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW). They have been a member of the Horizon League since 2020 (departing from the Summit League after thirteen years). Formerly, they represented the now defunct Indiana University – Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW). The team has yet to participate in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. Josh Duncan (born May 12, 1986) is an American professional basketball player for Chiba Jets Funabashi of the Japanese B.League. College career After playing high school basketball at Moeller High School, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Duncan played 4 seasons of college basketball for Xavier University. 2007–08 UCLA Bruins Men's Basketball Team
The 2007–08 UCLA Bruins men's basketball team represented the University of California, Los Angeles in the Pacific-10 Conference for the 2007–08 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. In his fifth year as head coach, Ben Howland led the team to its third straight Final Four appearance. The Bruins also set a new record number of wins for the regular season, eclipsing the 26 wins of 2006–07. Though the team was composed of many standout players, freshman center Kevin Love garnered much of the media's and school's attention with his .565 shooting percentage, 10.7 rebounds per game, 5.3 blocks, and 17.6 points per game.
