2008–09 Senior Women's Challenger Trophy
The 2008–09 Senior Women's Challenger Trophy was the inaugural edition of India's 50 over Women's Challenger Trophy. Three teams made up of the best players in India competed in a round-robin group, with the top two advancing to the final. Matches were held at the Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad across four days in October 2008. The tournament was won by India B, who beat India A in the final by 6 wickets. Competition format The three teams played in a round-robin group, playing each other team once, with the top two advancing to the final. Matches were played using a 50 over format. The group worked on a points system with positions with the group being based on the total points. Points were awarded as follows: Win: 2 points. Board Of Control For Cricket In India
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the national governing body for cricket in India. Its headquarters are situated at Cricket centre, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The BCCI is the richest governing body of cricket in the world and is part of the ''Big Three'' of international cricket, along with Cricket Australia and the England and Wales Cricket Board. Murugesan Dickeshwashankar Thirush Kamini (born 30 July 1990) is an Indian cricketer who has played 39 women's one-day internationals for the Indian women's cricket team. Cricket career Thirushkamini started playing at the age of six when her father found her interest in cricket and is being coached by him ever since.
