Reggina Calcio finally dropped out of Serie A, following seven years of balancing around the drop zone. Following its previous six years, the club had stayed in Serie A by less than three points on all occasions. In 2008–09, Reggina dropped off the pace mid-season and was nowhere near survival. Reggina Calcio
Reggina 1914 S.r.l., commonly referred to as Reggina, is an Italian football club based in Reggio Calabria. Founded in 1914, they currently play in Serie B, and play their home matches at the 27,763 seater Stadio Oreste Granillo. They are nicknamed the ''amaranto'' (amaranth) after their official dark red colours. The club was formerly known as Reggina Calcio before declaring bankruptcy in 2015, as well as A.S.D. Reggio Calabria in 2015–16 season and Urbs Reggina 1914 from 2016 to 2019. In its previous guise Reggina played in the Serie A for nine seasons between 1999 and 2009, including a seven-year consecutive spell starting in 2002. During these years, the club narrowly avoided relegation in most seasons and never finished in the top half. After failing to make a return in the first few years the club fell into financial and sporting difficulties, culminating in falling into the lower tiers of Italian football before returning to the Serie B in 2020. Carlos Adrián Valdez Suárez (born 2 May 1983) is a Uruguayan football player. He currently plays for Boston River. Nicolas Viola
Benito Nicolas Viola (born 12 October 1989) is an Italian footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Cagliari. He is the older brother of fellow footballer Alessio Viola. Career Reggina Viola was born in Oppido Mamertina, in the same province of Reggina Calcio. Viola made his Serie A debut for Reggina on 11 January 2009 against S.S. Lazio. He also played twice at 2008–09 Coppa Italia. Jonis Khoris (born 15 March 1989) is an Italian footballer of Moroccan descent who plays for Serie D club Castrovillari. Biography Born in Siderno, region of Calabria, some sources claim that he was born in Bucharest, Romania. However, he clarified that he was not born in Bucharest.
