Liga I Feminin
The Liga I is the top level women's football league in Romania. The champion team qualifies for UEFA Women's Champions League. After the fall of communism, organised women's football started to take off, and the founded clubs were distributed into 2 leagues - ''Divizia A'' with 12 teams and ''Divizia B'' with 30 teams grouped into 3 series, following a tournament called ''Cupa Libertății''. In 2006, the league was rebranded as ''Liga I'' along with its male counterparts, since the name ''Divizia A'' was found to already be trademarked. The top league was renamed ''Superliga'' for 4 seasons between the 2013–14 season, when the league-system was restructured, and until the 2016-17 season. CFF Clujana
CFF Clujana is an association football club from Cluj-Napoca in Romania. Clujana's women's football team played in the top domestic league and has won seven consecutive Romanian national championships and four domestic cups. History CFF Clujana was founded in 2001 by the businessman Florin Chelaru in collaboration with Mirel and Teodora Albon. The team manages to win its first title in 2003 and proceeded to establish itself as the most successful Romanian women's football team of the 2000s, being champions for seven consecutive years between 2003 and 2009, and winning four Romanian Cups. In 2009, the coach, Mirel Albon, the brain behind the team's success, left the club due to increasingly divergent views with Chelaru. Next year, Albon proceeded to form his own club, taking with him a significant part of Clujana's top players. 2009–10 UEFA Women's Champions League
The UEFA Women's Champions League 2009–10 was the first edition of the newly branded tournament, and the ninth edition of a UEFA tournament for women's champion football clubs. For the first time the top 8 leagues of the UEFA were awarded two entry places in this year's season. Germany even got 3 entries, as FCR 2001 Duisburg finished outside the top 2 in Germany's league but gained entry as the title holder. Teams Qualifying round The draw was made on 24 June 2009. Teams in bold hosted a mini-league. The winners of each group qualified for the next round. Group A Matches were played at City Stadium, Šiauliai and at the Aukštaitija Stadium, Panevėžys.
