The 2008–09 Basketball League of Serbia season was the 3rd season of the highest professional basketball league in Serbia. It was also 65th national championship played by Serbian clubs inclusive of nation's previous incarnations as Yugoslavia and Serbia & Montenegro. Basketball League Of Serbia
The Basketball League of Serbia ( sr, Кошаркашка лига Србије, Košarkaška liga Srbije; abbr. КЛС or KLS), is a top-tier men's professional basketball league in Serbia. Founded in 2006, it is run by the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS). Rules Competition format The league, operated by the Basketball Federation of Serbia, consists of two stages: the First League which has 16 teams and the SuperLeague which has 8 teams. Since the 2017–18 season, the top 8 teams in First League are promoted to Super League with five Serbian teams from the ABA League. Two lowest-placed teams, positioned 15th and 16th in the First League, are relegated to a lower-tier league – Second Basketball League of Serbia. Teams positioned 1st and 2nd in First League will be qualified for the next season's ABA League Second Division. The SuperLeague has 8 clubs divided into 2 groups of 4 teams. Železnik Hall
Železnik Hall ( sr, Дворана Железник, Dvorana Železnik) is a basketball arena in Belgrade, Serbia. The arena is currently used as a home arena to the KK FMP Beograd of the Basketball League of Serbia and the Adriatic League. The basketball arena has three levels and the area of 4,500 square metres. With various associate structures it represents a modern sports and business complex. Apart from the seating capacity of 1,700, there is a hydromassage block, specialized medical diagnostic centre and a modern gym of 200 square metres. The arena has scenic illumination and loudspeakers of 6 kW. The arena got new premises, trophy hall, press hall with a capacity for 40 people and a hotel with an area of 1,000 square metres for the accommodation of basketball players. Kraljevo Sports Hall ( sr, Hala sportova u Kraljevu) is a multi-use indoor arena in Kraljevo, Serbia. The arena has a total capacity of 6,000. It is used mostly for team handball and basketball matches since it is a home arena of basketball teams KK Sloga and KK Mašinac as well as volleyball team OK Ribnica.
