2008 Women's Australian Hockey League
The 2008 Women's Australian Hockey League was the 16th edition women's field hockey tournament. The tournament was held between 24 March – 5 April 2008. WA Diamonds won the tournament for the fifth time after defeating QLD Scorchers 2–0 in the final. Canberra Strikers finished in third place after defeating NSW Arrows 2–0 in the third and fourth place playoff. Victorian Vipers
The Victorian Vipers are a field hockey team who participate in Australia's national field hockey league, the AHL. The team is predominantly made up of amateurs who participate in the Victorian Premier League competition. The team's home stadium is the Victorian State Netball and Hockey Centre. Since the women's competition was included into the AHL in 1993, the Victorian Vipers have experienced varying levels of success including winning two national championships. Renee Trost
Renee Trost (born 12 October 1980) is a former field hockey player from Australia, who played as a midfielder. Personal life Renee Trost was born and raised in Albury, NSW, however now resides in Melbourne, VIC. She is currently working as a Naturopath in Melbourne. Career Domestic hockey Club hockey During her career, Trost's home club in Hockey Victoria's Premier League competition was Waverley. She also previously played for Camberwell. AHL Trost made her debut into Hockey Australia's premier domestic competition, the Australian Hockey League (AHL) in 2000, as a member of the VIC Vipers. Angie Skirving
Angela Robyn Lambert (; born 1 February 1981, in Toowoomba) was an Australian Women's Field Hockey player. She captained the under 21 Australian women's field hockey squad before entering the Hockeyroos in 1998 and in 2000 won gold at the Sydney Olympics. Angie went on to play in two more Olympic games and played over 225 games for Australia. Apart from playing in the Hockeyroos she played for the AHL Queensland Scorchers. The youngest of the local Australian Representatives, Skirving began playing hockey at the age of 12 and was selected in the Queensland no.1 Rep. team when 13. She debuted for the Hockeyroos at 17.
