Manchester Velodrome
Manchester Velodrome is an indoor Olympic-standard cycle-racing track in Manchester, England, which opened in 1994. Part of the National Cycling Centre, the facility has been home to British Cycling since 1994, coinciding with the nations rise to track cycling dominance at World and Olympic level. The velodrome was also home to UCI ProTeam Ineos Grenadiers, formerly known as Team Sky between 2010 and 2019, a period when the team won 6 Tour de France, 2 Vuelta a Espana and 1 Giro d'Italia with Great Britain riders. The Manchester Velodrome has been cited as the major catalyst for Britain's successes in track and road cycling and has been described by ''Cycling Weekly'' as the "beating heart of British Cycling’s ascension to the top of world cycling". Jérôme Neuville
Jérôme Neuville (born 15 August 1975 in Saint-Martin d'Hères, Isère) is a French racing cyclist. He had a break in his track cycling career between 1999 and 2002, during which time he competed on the road as a professional cyclist with the Crédit Agricole team (1999 to 2001), and Cofidis (2002). Cofidis did not renew his contract so in 2003, Neuvile joined the amateur club AVC Aix-en-Provence. He has competed at 4 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Sydney, Athens and Beijing. Colby Pearce
Colby Pearce (born June 12, 1972) is an American professional cyclist. Known as a time trial specialist, he excelled on the road and on the track, where he won a number of national and international events around the globe. Biography Born in Boulder, Colorado, Pearce began riding in the Red Zinger Mini Classics series for 10–15 year olds in 1988. He rode his first race at what was to become his "home track", the USOTC velodrome in Colorado Springs, in 1990. He competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, finishing 14th in the points race. In November 2005 he retired from the national team and became the US National Endurance Coach, saying he wanted to put something back into the sport. But in April 2007, he resigned from his position as coach to return to competitive cycling, although he would still be involved in developing the sport. Makoto Iijima
is a Japanese former professional road and track cyclist. Considered one of Japan's most successful cyclists in his decade, Iijima has claimed a total of nine track cycling medals (two golds, three silver, and four bronze) at the Asian Championships, two silvers at the Asian Games (1998 and 2002), and three national time trial titles at the Japanese Championships (1998, 2004, and 2005). Fabio Masotti (born 3 June 1974 in Udine) is an Italian amateur road and track cyclist. He has claimed four Italian national championship titles in track cycling (madison, and points race), and later represented his nation Italy at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Masotti also shared silver medals with 2000 Olympic medalist Marco Villa in men's Madison at the fourth round of the 2006 UCI World Cup circuit in Sydney, Australia. Angelo Ciccone (born 7 July 1980) is an Italian amateur road and track cyclist. He has claimed four Italian national championship titles in track cycling (omnium, madison, and points race), and later represented his nation Italy in two editions of the Olympic Games (2004 and 2008). Ciccone currently races for the 2013 season with Cycling Team Friuli under his head coach Roberto Bressan. Pieter Otto ("Peter") Schep (born 8 March 1977 in Lopik, Utrecht (province), Utrecht) is a Dutch former racing cyclist, who specialized in track cycling endurance events. Biography Born in Lopik, Schep represented the Netherlands at the 1996 Summer Olympics, 1996, 2000 Summer Olympics, 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics. In all three occasions he took part in the team pursuit. In 1996 he featured in a team with Jarich Bakker, Richard Rozendaal and Robert Slippens and finished in 12th position. Jens Mouris (born 12 March 1980) is a Dutch former professional racing cyclist. Born in Amsterdam, Mouris represented the Netherlands at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney where he took part in the team pursuit together with John den Braber, Robert Slippens and Wilco Zuijderwijk. Hayden Roulston
Hayden Roulston (born 10 January 1981, in Ashburton) is a former New Zealand professional racing cyclist. He won the silver medal in the men's 4000 m individual pursuit and a bronze medal in the men's 4000 m team pursuit at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He won the New Zealand road cycling championships on four occasions (2006, 2011, 2013, 2014), the Tour of Southland on three occasions (2006, 2007, 2008) and came tenth in the 2010 edition of Paris - Roubaix. Professional career Roulston was a talented junior rider on both road and track and competed for New Zealand on the track and initially on the road for a club team in France.
