2008 Men's European Volleyball League
The 2008 Men's European Volleyball League was the fifth edition of the European Volleyball League, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the CEV. The final Four was held in Bursa, Turkey from 19 to 20 July 2008. For the first time Great Britain joined the competition and it will also enter it as a unified team as a result of a FIVB decision which allows the United Kingdom to play as a unified team in order to prepare for the next 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Austria and Belarus also joined the European League for the first time. The tournament was won by Slovakia, defeating the Netherlands by 3–1 in the finals. Michal (; he, מיכל , gr, Μιχάλ) was, according to the first Book of Samuel, a princess of the United Kingdom of Israel; the younger daughter of King Saul, she was the first wife of David (), who later became king, first of Judah, then of all Israel. Volkan Güç, (16 July 1980 in Adana, Turkey) is a Turkish volleyball player. He is member of the Turkey men's national volleyball team. The tall sportsman plays as opposite setter. He studied at Istanbul University. He began his volleyball career in 1994 in Sasa Sports Club in Adana, where he played three years. In 2005, Volkan Güç transferred from Arçelik S.K. to Fenerbahçe Men's Volleyball. After playing for Halkbank Ankara, he moved first to Istanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor, and finally in 2010 to Galatasaray Yurtiçi Kargo.
