2008 Maryland Terrapins Men's Soccer Team
The 2008 Maryland Terrapins men's soccer team represented the University of Maryland, College Park during the 2008 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. The team won its third NCAA College Cup title, and their first since 2005. The team included several future professional players, most notably, Graham Zusi and Omar Gonzalez. Maryland Terrapins Men's Soccer
The Maryland Terrapins men's soccer team represents the University of Maryland in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) college soccer competition. The program has won four NCAA Division I College Cup national championships (1968, 2005, 2008, 2018). Maryland won nineteen Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) regular season championships (1953–68, 1971, 2012, 2013) and six ACC tournament championships (1996, 2002, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013) before joining the Big Ten Conference on July 1, 2014. The Terps won the 2014, 2016, and 2022 Big Ten Conference men's soccer championships and the 2014 and 2015 men's soccer tournament titles. History Maryland fielded its first varsity soccer team in 1946. It was coached by Doyle Royal, who remained in that position through 1973. Casey Townsend
Casey James Townsend (born July 7, 1989) is an American former professional soccer player. Career Prep career Townsend played for Traverse City West High School in Michigan from 2004 to 2007. During his time there he was named the state's Player of The Year (Mr. Soccer) in 2006 and 2007. He is the only player who has ever been given that award twice. He was also named a two-time NSCAA All-American (2006 & 2007), and three-time PARADE All-American (2005 to 2007), while scoring a school record 105 goals and adding 47 assists in his four years there. In addition to these honors, he led the school to their first and only Division 1 State Championship in 2006. Dignity Health Sports Park is a multi-use sports complex located on the campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills in Carson, California. The complex consists of the 27,000-seat Dignity Health Sports Park soccer stadium, the Dignity Health Sports Park tennis stadium, a track-and-field facility, and the VELO Sports Center velodrome. UCLA Bruins Men's Soccer
The UCLA Bruins men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of the University of California at Los Angeles. The team is a member of the Pac-12 Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The South Florida Bulls men's soccer team represents the University of South Florida in the sport of soccer. The Bulls currently compete in the American Athletic Conference (The American) within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). USF plays in Corbett Stadium, which opened in 2011 and is also used by the USF women's soccer team. Prior to that, they played at USF Soccer Field from their first season in 1965 until 1978 and USF Soccer Stadium (later called USF Soccer and Track Stadium) from 1979 until 2010. Sports Backers Stadium is a 3,250-seat stadium in Richmond, Virginia. The facility was opened in 1999. Rodney Wallace Burns (born 17 June 1988) is a Costa Rican former professional footballer who played as a winger. Alexander Francis Vei Chen Lee (born January 15, 1990), known as Alex Lee, is a Guamanian international footballer who currently plays for Christos FC. Alex is sometimes referred to by his nickname "A-Lee.” Club career College Lee played college soccer at the University of Maryland, College Park between 2008 and 2011.
