2008 Côte D'Ivoire Premier Division
The 2008 Côte d'Ivoire Premier Division season was the 48th of the competition. The season took place between 24 February and 23 November 2008. The league was composed of fourteen teams, playing a double round-robin tournament with weekly games, except for certain dates reserved by FIFA to allow players to represent their country. Africa Sports National were the defending champions, having won their fifteenth league title during the previous season. During the season, three games were abandoned, two due to crowd troubles, and one due to forfeit. All three games were ruled as two goal wins for the visiting team, and five goal defeats to the receiving team. On 23 November 2008, Africa Sports National beat RC Dalona on the final matchday of the season, thus meaning that Africa Sports National retained the trophy, winning the Ivory Coast Ligue 1 for the sixteenth time of their history. Gagnoa
Gagnoa is a city in south-central Ivory Coast. It is the seat of both Gôh-Djiboua District and Gôh Region. It is also the seat of and a sub-prefecture of Gagnoa Department. Gagnoa is also a commune. In the 2014 census, the city had a population of 160,465, making it the seventh-largest city in the country. Gagnoa is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Gagnoa, and contains its cathedral. Notable people French rapper Vegedream's father as well as fellow performer and uncle Ziké are from Gagnoa, and Vegedream, famously the artist in the song Ramenez la coupe à la maison, says the French phrase ''Et ça c'est Vegedream de Gagnoa'', meaning "And that is Vegedream of Gagnoa", in each song. Bouna, Côte D'Ivoire
Bouna (also spelled Buna) is a town in north-eastern Ivory Coast. It is a sub-prefecture of and the seat of Bouna Department. It is also the seat of Bounkani Region in Zanzan District and a commune. Near Bouna is the Comoé National Park and the Ghanaian border. The main town of the Lobi people, Bouna is known for the vernacular architecture of the fortress-style adobe compounds in surrounding villages. Bouna is historically a Koulango village. Bouna was formerly the centre of a "highly centralized kingdom based on military districts administered by princes" who exploited the local gold deposits; the kingdom was created in the late-17th century by Bounkani, an immigrant from the Dagomba people. Daloa
Daloa is a city in western Ivory Coast. It is the seat of both the Sassandra-Marahoué District and the Haut-Sassandra Region. Yamoussoukro (; , locally ) is the ''de jure'' capital of Ivory Coast and an autonomous district. As of the 2014 census, Yamoussoukro is the fifth most populous city in Ivory Coast with a population of 212,670. Bingerville
Bingerville is a town in south-eastern Ivory Coast. It is a suburb of Abidjan and is one of four sub-prefectures of Abidjan Autonomous District. Bingerville is also a commune.
