2008 All-SEC Football Team
The 2008 All-SEC football team consists of American football players selected to the All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) chosen by the ''Associated Press'' (AP) and the conference coaches for the 2008 college football season. The Florida Gators won the conference, beating the Alabama Crimson Tide 31 to 20 in the SEC Championship game. The Gators then won a national championship, defeating the Big 12 champion Oklahoma Sooners 24 to 14 in the 2009 BCS National Championship Game. Alabama led the conference with five consensus first-team All-SEC selections by both the AP and the coaches; Florida was second with three. Running Back
A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. The primary roles of a running back are to receive American football plays#Offensive terminology, handoffs from the quarterback to Rush (American football)#Offense, rush the ball, to line up as a receiver to catch the ball, and Blocking (American football), block. Jonathan Luigs
Jonathan Luigs (born August 11, 1986) is an American former college and professional football player who was a center in the National Football League (NFL). Luigs played college football for the University of Arkansas, earned consensus All-American honors, and won the 2007 Rimington Trophy as the most outstanding center in college football. Luigs played professionally for the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals for a single season in 2009. Early years Luigs was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. He attended Pulaski Academy in Little Rock, where he was a three-year starter on the offensive line, playing both center and offensive tackle as well as defensive end. Antoine Caldwell (born April 19, 1986) is a former American football center and guard. He played college football for the University of Alabama, and earned All-American honors. He was drafted by the Houston Texans in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He also played for the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars. Early years Caldwell was born in Montgomery, Alabama. He attended Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery, where he was a standout lineman for his high school football team. Quintorris Lopez "Julio" Jones Jr. (; born February 8, 1989) is an American football wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). Brandon Josiah LaFell (born November 4, 1986) is a former American football wide receiver. He was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft, and has also played for the New England Patriots where he was a member of the Super Bowl XLIX winning team. He played college football at LSU. High school career LaFell attended Lamar High School in Houston, where he played football, basketball, and ran track. He was coached by Tom Nolen. Glenwood Razeem Coffee Jr. (born May 1, 1987) is a former American football running back. He was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft and played one season before retiring from football in 2010 and serving in the U.S. Army from 2013 to 2017.
