2007–08 Welcoat Dragons Season
The 2007–08 Welcoat Dragons season was the second season of the franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The Dragons are lower seeded in both conferences of the season. The Dragons drafted future star Joe Devance as first overall, and Ryan Araña of De La Salle in the second round. The Dragons secured a Php 8.7 million contract for Devance. Before the Fiesta Conference, Caloy Garcia was appointed as head coach, as Leo Austria will focus on his duties as head coach of Adamson Soaring Falcons. Leo Austria
Leovino R. Austria (born March 14, 1958), better known as Leo Austria, is a Filipino former professional basketball player and the current head coach of the San Miguel Beermen in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Playing career Austria played his college basketball for the Lyceum of the Philippines University while also suiting up in the commercial Philippine Amateur Basketball League via Masagana 99. In 1984, he was named the Most Valuable Player of the Ambassador's Cup before joining the PBA. In 1985, a new team Formula Shell drafted him, aside from nabbing fellow PABL standout Sonny Cabatu in the said draft. He made a quick impact for the new but veteran laden Shell squad and won the Rookie of the Year honors at season's end. Alaska Aces (PBA)
The Alaska Aces were a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association since 1986 under the ownership of Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) and the owner of 14 PBA championships, tied with the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Magnolia Hotshots for the second-most titles overall. They are one of the most popular teams in the league and the Philippines. The Aces won nine PBA championships in the 1990s, including a rare grand slam (winning three championships in one season) during the 1996 season, joining the Crispa Redmanizers (1976, 1983), San Miguel Beermen (1989), and the San Mig Super Coffee Mixers ( 2013–14) as one of only four franchises to achieve the feat. Jason Beau Keep (born May 9, 1978) is a former professional basketball player who started his collegiate carrier with the Oklahoma State Cowboys and later transferred to the San Diego Toreros men's basketball, San Diego Torreros. He was undrafted in the 2003 NBA draft. The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters are a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association owned by Asian Coatings Philippines, Inc. It debuted in the league in the 2006–07 PBA season after acquiring the franchise rights of the Shell Turbo Chargers in 2006, which disbanded after the 2004–05 PBA season.
