2007–08 WNBL Season
The 2007–08 WNBL season was the 28th season of competition since its establishment in 1981. A total of 10 teams contested the league. The regular season was played between October 2007 and March 2008, followed by a post-season involving the top five in March 2008. Broadcast rights were held by free-to-air network ABC. ABC broadcast one game a week, at 1:00PM at every standard time in Australia. Molten provided equipment including the official game ball, with Hoop2Hoop supplying team apparel. Women's National Basketball League
The Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) is the pre-eminent professional women's basketball league in Australia. It is currently composed of eight teams. The league was founded in 1981 and is the women's counterpart to the National Basketball League (NBL). Several WNBL teams have NBL counterparts. The Adelaide Lightning, Melbourne Boomers, Perth Lynx, Southside Flyers and Sydney Uni Flames are the current WNBL teams sharing a market with an NBL team (the Townsville Fire and University of Canberra Capitals shared a market with the Townsville Crocodiles and Canberra Cannons respectively, before both NBL clubs became defunct). The current league champions are the Melbourne Boomers, who won their second title in 2022. WNBL Rookie Of The Year Award
The WNBL Youth Player of the Year (formerly the WNBL Rookie of the Year Award) is an annual Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) award given since the 1988 WNBL season. The award underwent a makeover in the 2019–20 season with new criteria seeing Australian players 23 years old or under eligible for Youth Player of the Year, replacing the long-standing Rookie of the Year. Women's National Basketball League Seasons
A woman is an adult female human. Prior to adulthood, a female human is referred to as a girl (a female child or adolescent). Jessica Foley
Jessica Mary Ellen Foley (born 20 April 1983) is a retired Australian basketballer and Australian rules footballer. As a basketballer, Foley represented Australia at both junior and senior levels and played for Duke in college basketball in the United States. As an Australian rules footballer, Foley played for the Adelaide Football Club in the AFL Women's (AFLW), playing in an AFL Women's premiership in her first season. Basketball career Foley commenced playing in the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) in 1999. Since then, Foley has played for the AIS (1999/00 to 2000/01) and Adelaide Lightning (2006/07 to current). In season 2007/08, Foley was selected to the WNBL All-Star Five. Tully Bevilaqua
Tully Louise Bevilaqua (née Crook on 19 July 1972) is an Australian professional women's basketball player. She formerly played for the San Antonio Stars in the WNBA and the Perth Lynx in Australia's WNBL. The 5'7" Bevilaqua's play style is energetic and disruptive, so much so that she is usually in the top 10 in steals. In the 2005 regular season, she had more steals per turnover than any other player. WNBA career Bevilaqua was not drafted by a WNBA team, but was signed by the Cleveland Rockers as a free agent before the 1998 season began. She played only 12 regular-season games for them before being waived by the team in July 1998. Kathleen MacLeod
Kathleen MacLeod (born 23 October 1986) is an Australian basketball player who was part of the Australian team that won the bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Personal MacLeod is from Melbourne. She has four siblings, two brothers and two sisters. She is tall. Basketball MacLeod is a guard. As a competitor at the 2005 Australian Under-20 national championships, she won the Bob Staunton Award. She played junior basketball for the Victorian-based Nunawading Spectres. She played basketball in Hungary in 2008/2009 and France in 2009/2010. Jennifer Crouse
Jennifer Crouse (born May 23, 1977) is an American retired professional basketball player. Career College In college, Crouse attended University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota, playing for the Fighting Sioux ('It was controversially named Fighting Sioux at the time'') in NCAA Division II. The WNBL Leading Scorer Award is an annual Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) statistical award given since the 1981 WNBL season. The Leading Scorer is determined by the player with the highest average points per game, throughout the regular season. Carrie Graf
Carrie Ann Graf (born 23 June 1967) is an Australian basketball coach. She competed in the WNBL as a player starting during 1983–1989, after which she attended RMIT. Graf has coached teams in the WNBL, WNBA and Australia's national team, and has been honoured for her contribution to basketball coaching. Personal After having earned a diploma of coaching from the Australian Coaching Council in 1991, Graf attended RMIT in Melbourne, Victoria, where she earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physical Education in 1992.
