2007–08 Missouri Tigers Men's Basketball Team
The 2007–08 Missouri Tigers men's basketball team represented the University of Missouri in the 2007-08 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The head coach was Mike Anderson, who was in his 2nd year. The team played its home games in the Mizzou Arena in Columbia, Missouri. Pre-season With Missouri returning four starters and eleven scholarship players from a team that surprised many by winning 18 games in head coach Mike Anderson's first year with the team, expectations were running high for the Tigers in 2007. Among the returners was the 2007 Big 12 Conference Newcomer of the Year Stefhon Hannah. In addition, the Tigers welcomed newcomer DeMarre Carroll as a transfer from Vanderbilt. Mike Anderson (basketball Coach)
Michael Andre Anderson (born December 12, 1959) is an American basketball coach, currently the head coach of the St. John's Red Storm. He came to St. John's after previously serving as head coach at UAB, Missouri and Arkansas. He also served as an assistant/associate head coach under Nolan Richardson at Arkansas for 17 years. Over his 20 seasons as a head coach, Anderson has compiled a 414–235 record, 11 20-win campaigns, 9 NCAA Tournament appearances, two Sweet 16 berths and a run to the 2009 Elite Eight. Anderson is one of just 3 current Division I head coaches with 15+ years of experience and no losing seasons, along with Mark Few and Tom Izzo. The 2007–08 Michigan State Spartans men's basketball team represented Michigan State University in the 2007–08 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at Breslin Center in East Lansing, Michigan and were coached by 13th-year head coach, Tom Izzo. MSU finished the season 27–9, 12–6 to finish in fourth place in Big Ten play. They defeated Ohio State in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten tournament before losing to No. 1-seeded Wisconsin in the semifinals. Bud Walton Arena (also known as the Basketball Palace of Mid-America) is the home to the men's and women's basketball teams of the University of Arkansas, known as the Razorbacks. The Western Illinois Leathernecks men's basketball team represents Western Illinois University of Macomb, Illinois, in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I (NCAA), Division I men's college basketball competition.
