The 2007–08 season was the 64th season in the existence of Lille OSC and the club's eighth consecutive season in the top flight of Football in France, French football. Lille Olympique Sporting Club (), commonly referred to as LOSC, LOSC Lille or simply Lille, is a French professional football club based in Lille, Hauts-de-France that competes in Ligue 1, the top flight of French football. Lille has played its home matches since 2012 at Stade Pierre-Mauroy, the fourth-largest football stadium in France. The 50,186-capacity retractable roof venue replaced the club's previous home of Stadium Lille-Metropole. Lille was founded as a result of a merger between Olympique Lillois and SC Fives in 1944. Both clubs were founding members of the French Division 1 and Olympique Lillois was the league's inaugural champions. In domestic football, the club has won four league titles, six Coupes de France and one Trophée des Champions since its foundation. Jérémy Taravel (born 17 April 1987) is a French professional footballer who plays as a centre-back. Career Jérémy Taravel began his career as a professional footballer at the second team of Lille after working his way up from the youth academy. A loan spell at Troyes AC in 2008 was unsuccessful as he did not manage a single appearance but the next year, on 2 January 2009, he was loaned to Belgian side S.V. Zulte Waregem. For a period while on loan, Taravel was consistently a starter in the first team; Zulte Waregem exercised their buy option included in the deal and signed him on a permanent basis from Lille. On 24 June 2010, Taravel signed a three-year contract with Belgian side K.S.C. Lokeren Oost-Vlaanderen, transferring from Zulte Waregem. Jean II Makoun (, born 29 May 1983) is a Cameroonian former footballer who played as a central midfielder. He played for the Cameroon national football team from 2003 to 2015. Souleymane Youla (born 29 November 1981) is a Guinean football player. He has Turkish citizenship with the name Süleyman Yula. Career Club Youla's professional career started in Belgium in 1999, when Lokeren signed him to replace the departed Jan Koller, who had moved to Anderlecht. Scoring 9 goals in 14 matches, Youla played a successful season, before also being signed by Anderlecht. Ludovic Joseph Obraniak (; born 10 November 1984) is a football manager and former professional footballer. He primarily played as an attacking midfielder. Patrick Stephan Kluivert (; born 1 July 1976) is a Dutch former football player, coach and sporting director. He played as a striker, most notably for AFC Ajax, FC Barcelona and the Netherlands national team.
