The 2007–08 Lega Basket Serie A season, known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons, was the 86th season of the Lega Basket Serie A, the highest professional basketball league in Italy. The regular season ran from September 30, 2007 to April 27, 2008, 18 teams played 34 games each. At the end of the regular season, the top 8 teams made the play-offs whilst the lowest ranked teams, Cimberio Varese and Legea Scafati, were relegated to the Legadue. Montepaschi Siena won their 3rd title by winning the playoff finals series against Lottomatica Roma. The 2006–07 Lega Basket Serie A season, known as the Serie A TIM for sponsorship reasons, was the 85th season of the Lega Basket Serie A, the highest professional basketball league in Italy. The regular season ran from October 8, 2006 to May 2007, 18 teams played 34 games each. The top 8 teams made the play-offs whilst the lowest ranked teams, Bipop Carire Reggio Emilia and TDShop.it Livorno, were relegated to the Legadue. Montepaschi Siena won their second title by winning the playoff finals series against VidiVici Bologna. Regular Season 2006/07 Teams marked in green qualified for the playoffs. Mediolanum Forum (originally the Forum di Assago, formerly the FilaForum and DatchForum) is an indoor sports arena that is located in Assago, a small town 3 km outside Milan, Italy. Pallacanestro Virtus Roma, commonly known as Virtus Roma, was an Italian professional basketball club based in Rome, Lazio. It competed in the first division of Italian basketball, the LBA, for the last time in the 2020–21 season. It was formerly a major side in Europe, winning the 1983–84 FIBA European Champions Cup ( EuroLeague), and at one time being one of only 13 clubs to hold a EuroLeague A license. Unipol Arena (previously known as Futurshow Station, PalaMalaguti and originally Palasport Casalecchio) is an indoor arena, indoor sporting arena located in Casalecchio di Reno, Province of Bologna, Italy. The seating capacity of the arena for basketball games is 11,000 people, and the seating capacity for concerts is 20,000 people. It was opened in December 1993. Piero Bucchi (born March 5, 1958) is an Italian basketball coach who is the head coach of Dinamo Sassari in the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) and Basketball Champions League (BCL) and Romeo Sacchetti's assistant coach of the Italian national team. Career Piero Bucchi started his coach-career with Basket Rimini Crabs in 1992. He became the head coach of that team in March 1996. Valerio Bianchini (born July 22, 1943) is an Italian professional basketball coach. He was the first coach in the history of Italian basketball who won three championship titles with three clubs (Cantù, Virtus Roma and Victoria Libertas Pesaro). His nickname is the "prophet". Career In 1974 he began his coaching career by Stella Azzurra Roma where he stayed for five seasons.
