The 2007–08 GET-ligaen season began on 13 September 2007 and was scheduled to end 21 February 2008. The Storhamar Dragons won the championships for the sixth time. The win also marked the fourth championship in as many leap years for the Dragons (1996, 2000, 2004, 2008). GET-ligaen
Eliteserien, known as Fjordkraftligaen due to sponsorship, is the premier Norwegian ice hockey league, organised by the Norwegian Ice Hockey Association. It comprises 10 clubs and works on the premise of promotion and relegation, in which the two teams who placed last must play the top two teams from First Division (the league ranked immediately below) for the rights to play in the next Eliteserie season. History The Norwegian Ice Hockey Association (NIHF) was founded on 16 September 1934. The same season also saw the debut of a national league for ice hockey. It was then known as 1. divisjon (''1st division''), a name it held until 1990, when the elite clubs broke away and formed a new top league, Eliteserien (''The Elite League''). Mats Zuccarello Aasen
Mats André Zuccarello Aasen (born 1 September 1987) is a Norwegian professional ice hockey winger for the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has also played for the New York Rangers and Dallas Stars. Prior to joining the NHL, Zuccarello previously played for Modo Hockey in the Swedish Elite League. In 2010, he won the Guldhjälmen (Golden Helmet), awarded annually to the most valuable player in the Swedish Hockey League. He is regarded as one of the best Norwegian players to play in the NHL. Early life Zuccarello grew up in the suburbs of Løren in Oslo and began playing hockey at age five. Hamar OL-Amfi
CC Amfi, also known as Nordlyshallen ("The Northern Light Hall"), is an indoor sports arena in Hamar, Norway. It is mostly used for ice hockey and is the home arena of Storhamar Hockey. It has also been used for short track speed skating, figure skating, handball, events and concerts. The venue has a capacity for 7,000 spectators and was built for the 1994 Winter Olympics, where it was used for short track speed skating and figure skating. Other major events held at the arena include the 1999 IIHF World Championship in ice hockey, the 1999 World Women's Handball Championship, the 2012 IPC Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships and the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics. Ruben Smith
Ruben Smith (born April 15, 1987) is a retired Norwegian professional ice hockey goaltender who last played for Stavanger Oilers in Norway's GET-ligaen. Up to the 2010/2011 season he played with the Storhamar Dragons of Norway's elite GET-ligaen. Smith joined the Storhamar organization in 2003 and played three seasons with their junior elite team. He made his professional debut during the 2005–06 season, appearing in 13 games and recording a goals against average of 0.50 and a save percentage of .973. Pål Grotnes (born 7 March 1977 in Lørenskog, Norway) is a Norwegian professional ice hockey player, who plays for Stjernen and Norway's national team as a goaltender. Playing career Grotnes was born in Norway and raised in Sweden, where his mother was from. He began playing hockey at the age of four as his brother, two years older than Grotnes, wanted to play. Prior to the 2008–09 season he signed with Stjernen in the Norwegian GET-league, after having played two seasons with Comet. In 2008 he backstopped Comet to the semifinals for the first time in franchise history.
