Eurovision Song Contest 2007
The Eurovision Song Contest 2007 was the 52nd edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Helsinki, Finland, following the country's victory at the with the song "Hard Rock Hallelujah" by Lordi. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Yleisradio (Yle), the contest was held at the Hartwall Areena, and consisted of a semi-final on 10 May, and a final on 12 May 2007. The two live shows were presented by Finnish television presenter Jaana Pelkonen and musician and TV-host Mikko Leppilampi. In addition, Krisse Salminen acted as guest host in the green room, and reported from the crowds at the Helsinki Senate Square, Senate Square. Forty-two countries participated in the contest - three more than the previous record of thirty-nine, that took part in . Drama Queen (DQ Song)
Denmark participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Drama Queen" written by Peter Andersen, Simon Munk and Claus Christensen. The song was performed by DQ, which is the artistic name of singer and drag queen Peter Andersen. The Danish broadcaster DR organised the national final ''Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2007'' in order to select the Danish entry for the 2007 contest in Helsinki, Finland. The national selection consisted of two televised semi-finals, a radio wildcard selection and a televised final. In the final, the winner was selected by regional televoting. "Drama Queen" performed by DQ was the winner after gaining the most votes. Denmark competed in the semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 10 May 2007. Performing during the show in position 12, "Drama Queen" was not announced among the top 10 entries of the semi-final and therefore did not qualify to compete in the final. Klovn
''Klovn'' ("Clown") is a Danish sitcom, which first aired on the Danish TV channel TV2 Zulu. It focuses on the life of the main character Frank (played by Frank Hvam) and Casper (played by Casper Christensen). The show builds its comedy around quiet everyday situations, social awkwardness, uncomfortable silences and general faux pas. ''Klovn'' shares many concepts with the American sitcom ''Curb Your Enthusiasm'' by Larry David, notably the main concept of a semi-retired comedian encountering humorous and embarrassing situations, along with his wife, friends and celebrity acquaintances. The show is also held in a pseudo-realistic style where all lines are retroscripted, so a first-time viewer might be in doubt of whether or not the show is staged. Even the score is similar. In spite of this, in its closing credits, the show is claimed to be an original idea by Casper Christensen and Frank Hvam.
