2007 Yucatán State Election
Local elections were held in the Mexican state of Yucatán on May 20, 2007. Voters went to the polls to elect on the local level: *a new Governor of Yucatán to serve for a five-year term; * 106 municipal presidents (mayors) to serve for a three-year term; and *25 local deputies (15 by the first-past-the-post system and 10 by proportional representation) to serve for a three-year term in the Congress of Yucatán. PVEM
The Ecological Green Party of Mexico ( es, Partido Verde Ecologista de México, , PVEM or PVE) is a green-conservative political party in Mexico. In the 2012 legislative elections, the party took 34 seats in the Chamber of Deputies (out of 500) and nine seats in the Senate (out of 128). During the 2012 Presidential election, PVEM supported Enrique Peña Nieto (EPN), the candidate from the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), who was elected. In 2018, PVEM supported Todos por México coalition, along with PRI and PANAL. José Antonio Meade, the coalition's candidate, came in third in a four-way race, with 16.43% of the vote. PVEM later withdrew from Todos por Mexico and gradually came close to the government, formally entering the Juntos Haremos Historia coalition in 2019. Xavier Antonio Abreu Sierra (born February 11, 1950 in Mérida, Yucatán) is a Mexican politician affiliated with the National Action Party (PAN). Political career Abreu has been an active PAN member since 1981. From 1985 to 1988 he was member of the Chamber of Deputies. From 1998 to 2001 he served as municipal president of Mérida. Abreu served in the cabinet of Governor Patricio Patrón Laviada as Secretary of Social Development. Ivonne Aracely Ortega Pacheco (born November 27, 1972) is a Mexican politician from Yucatán affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), former Governor of Yucatán and current federal deputy to the LXIII Legislature of the Mexican Congress.
