Massachusetts's 5th congressional district is a congressional district in eastern Massachusetts. The district is represented by Katherine Clark. Massachusetts congressional redistricting after the 2010 census has changed the borders of the district starting with the elections of 2012, with the new 3rd district largely taking the place of the old 5th. The 5th district covers many of the communities represented in the old 7th district. Wilmington, Massachusetts
Wilmington is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. Its population was 23,349 at the 2020 United States census. History Wilmington was first settled in 1665 and was officially incorporated in 1730, from parts of Woburn, Reading, and Billerica. The first settlers are believed to have been Will Butter, Richard Harnden or Abraham Jaquith. Butter was brought to Woburn as an indentured captive. Once he attained his freedom, he fled to the opposite side of a large swamp, in what is now Wilmington. Harnden settled in Reading, in an area that is now part of Wilmington. Jim Miceli
James R. Miceli (March 25, 1935 – April 21, 2018) was an American Democratic politician who represented Middlesex County's 19th district in the Massachusetts State Legislature. Career Micelli was born in Dorchester, Boston, Massachusetts. He served on the board of selectmen from 1966 to 1977 and was chair of the board of selectmen. Miceli was first elected to the state house in 1977 and served until his death. He received his bachelor's degree of science in business administration from Northeastern University. He also ran in the special election to replace Marty Meehan in the United States House of Representatives. Miceli was a conservative Democrat. James Bradley Eldridge (born August 11, 1973) is an American politician and lawyer. He serves as a Democratic member of the Massachusetts Senate from the Middlesex and Worcester District.
