2007 Jacksonville Jaguars Season
The 2007 Jacksonville Jaguars season was the franchise's thirteenth season in the National Football League and the fifth under head coach Jack Del Rio. They improved upon their 8–8 record from 2006 when they finished third in the AFC South, and returned to the playoffs for the first time since 2005. As of 2022 this is the second-last season that the Jaguars have had a winning record and a playoff berth. The franchise would miss the playoffs for the next nine seasons, only returning to the playoffs after winning the AFC South in 2017. Offseason Coaching staff changes After the 2006 season, the Jaguars announced that offensive coordinator Carl Smith, special teams coordinator Pete Rodriguez, quarterbacks coach Ken Anderson, and wide receivers coach Steve Walters would not be returning. AFC South
The American Football Conference – Southern Division or AFC South is one of the four Division (sport), divisions of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). It was created before the 2002 NFL season, 2002 season when the league realigned divisions after expanding to 32 teams. Ahmad Carroll
Ahmad Raheem Carroll (born August 4, 1983) is a former American football cornerback. He played college football at Arkansas and was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft. Carroll was also a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Orlando Predators, New York Jets, Calgary Stampeders, Hartford Colonials, Virginia Destroyers, Arizona Rattlers and Toronto Argonauts. Early years Ahmad Carroll was born August 4, 1983, to Artie and Carrolyn Carroll in Atlanta, Georgia. In his earlier years, Ahmad ran track for the D.C. Bruce Thornton (cornerback)
Bruce Thornton Sr. (born January 31, 1980) is a former American football cornerback in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers. He played college football at the University of Georgia. Early years Thornton attended LaGrange High School, where he was a three-year starter at running back. As a senior, he earned Super Prep All-America honors after finishing with 1,920 rushing yards, 28 touchdowns, 932 return yards and 12 blocked kicks. Seth Copeland Payne (born February 12, 1975) is a former American football defensive tackle, who now co-hosts a local radio show. Early life Payne is descended from a long line of farmers from outside Victor, New York and went to high school at Victor Senior High School, graduating in 1993. In 1993, he was elected to the All-Greater Rochester and All State teams and also participated in the Eddie Meath All Star Game. He lived with his mother, stepfather, and two siblings. Nick A. Greisen ( ; born August 10, 1979) is a former American football linebacker. He was drafted by the New York Giants in the fifth round of the 2002 NFL Draft. He played college football at Wisconsin. Greisen also played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Baltimore Ravens and Denver Broncos. Daniel Paul Connolly (born September 2, 1982) is a former American football player. He was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2005 after playing college football at Southeast Missouri State. David Garrard
David Douglas Garrard (born February 14, 1978) is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 10 seasons, primarily with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played college football at East Carolina and was selected by the Jaguars in the fourth round of the 2002 NFL Draft. Byron Antron Leftwich (born January 14, 1980) is an American football coach and former quarterback who is the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). He previously played in the NFL for ten seasons. After twice being named the MAC Most Valuable Player at Marshall, Leftwich was selected seventh overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2003 NFL Draft.
