Sven Nys
Sven Nys (; born 17 June 1976) is a former professional cyclist competing in cyclo-cross and mountain bike. With two world championships, seven world cups, and over 140 competitive victories, he is considered one of the best cyclo-cross racers of his generation, and remains a prominent figure in cyclo-cross. Apart from cyclo-cross, Nys is also fivefold national mountainbike champion, and has competed in that discipline in two Olympic games. Career Amateur career Born in Wormer, Sinkeldam rode for the for his entire amateur career, between 2007 and 2011. During this time, he won the Paris–Roubaix Espoirs race in 2011, as well as winning the 2011 Ronde van Limburg and the national under-23 road race championships in 2011, having finished second in the two previous years.
