2007 Colorado Rapids Season
The 2007 Colorado Rapids season is the twelfth season of the Colorado club franchise. The team enters the season having been eliminated from the 2006 MLS Playoffs in the Conference Finals. The Rapids, however, enter as the defending champions of the MLS Reserve Division. For 2007, the Rapids revealed new team colors, uniforms and crest. The Colorado Rapids begin play in their new soccer-specific stadium, Dick's Sporting Goods Park. Western Conference (MLS)
The Western Conference is one of Major League Soccer's two conferences, along with the Eastern Conference. As of 2023, the Western Conference contains fourteen teams. The conference has produced eleven Supporters' Shield champions and seventeen MLS Cup winners in Major League Soccer's first 27 seasons. Luchi Gonzalez
Luis Aquilino Gonzalez (born July 14, 1980) is an American soccer coach and former player who is currently the assistant coach of the United States national team. He is set to join the San Jose Earthquakes as head coach following the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Youth and college Gonzalez was born in Hialeah, Florida, to a Peruvian father and an American mother. Gonzalez represented the United States U17s at the 1997 FIFA U-17 World Championship making 3 appearances in their group stage exit. He played four years of college soccer at Southern Methodist University, emerging in 2001, his senior season, to win the Hermann Trophy as college soccer's best player. Colin Clark (April 11, 1984 – August 26, 2019) was an American soccer player who played as a left winger. Career College and amateur Clark played college soccer at Southern Methodist University for two years from 2002 to 2004, and in 2005 he played for the Boulder Rapids Reserve team in the USL Premier Development League. Professional Colorado Rapids In February 2006 he officially signed a developmental contract with Colorado Rapids, and was with the team until 2010. Matt Jordan (born October 13, 1975 in Aurora, Colorado) is a former soccer goalkeeper. Youth and college Jordan graduated from Overland High School in Aurora, and played college soccer at Clemson University from 1994 to 1997, for whom he started 80 total games, and was named a first-team All-American in 1997 while leading the Tigers to the NCAA quarterfinals. Matthew David Crawford (born August 20, 1980 in Durham, North Carolina, Durham, North Carolina) is an American soccer midfielder who last played for the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer. He played high school soccer at Durham Academy in Durham, North Carolina and helped earn them state titles in 1995 and 1996. Nicolás Hernández (Argentine Footballer)
Nicolás "Niko" Hernández (born 4 May 1979 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an Argentine retired footballer. Career Hernández began his professional career with the Primera División side Ferro Carril Oeste in 1999. After a year with them he moved to Colón de Santa Fe for a season. In 2002, he was signed by Italian club U.S. Cremonese. After a short spell with them he ended up back in Argentina playing for National B Division teams San Martín de Mendoza and Huracán until 2005 when he was picked up by Chilean powerhouse Cobreloa. Aitor Karanka de la Hoz (Basque and ; born 18 September 1973) is a Spanish football manager and former player who was most recently the head coach of Segunda División club Granada. Mike Petke (born January 30, 1976) is an American former soccer player and coach who was most recently head coach of Major League Soccer club Real Salt Lake. Prior to his tenure with Real Salt Lake, he was head coach of the New York Red Bulls, leading them to the Supporters' Shield in 2013.
