2007 Chicago Rush Season
The Chicago Rush season was the seventh season for the franchise. They looked to win the ArenaBowl again after winning it in 2006 with a 7–9 record. They won the American Football Conference Central Division with a 12–4 record and qualified for the playoffs as the #2 playoff seed in the conference, losing in the conference championship to the San Jose SaberCats. Mike Hohensee
Michael Louis Hohensee (born February 22, 1961) is a former professional football quarterback who played in the United States Football League, Canadian Football League, National Football League and Arena Football League. He most recently the head coach of the AFL's Portland Thunder. He played college football at the University of Minnesota, and was in the AFL for two seasons, from 1987 to 1988. Hohensee has been a head coach since 1990, beginning at the Washington Commandos. He has served as head coach of eight different arena football franchises, winning ArenaBowl XX with the Chicago Rush in 2006. Kevin Beard
Kevin Leon Beard (born January 20, 1981) is an American football coach and former player who is the wide receivers coach for University of Miami. He played college football at the University of Miami for Larry Coker, and afterward played professionally in the AF2 from 2005 to 2006, and in the Arena Football League in 2007. In 2015, Beard returned to Miami as the wide receivers coach. High school years Beard attended Plantation High School in Plantation, Florida and was a student and a standout in football and basketball. In football, as a junior, he made 50 receptions for 850 yards (17.00 yards per reception) and 15 touchdowns. As a senior, he was a first team All-Broward County selection, a second team All-State selection, and was named by the ''South Florida Sun-Sentinel'' as a Broward County co-Offensive Player of the Year. John Moyer (American Football)
John Moyer (born February 24, 1975) is a former American football defensive lineman known mostly for his time with the Chicago Rush of the Arena Football League. He played college football at Eastern Illinois. As a member of the Rush, Moyer was a four-time All-Arena selection from 2002 to 2005, while also twice earning All-Ironman Team honors and being named the Lineman of the Year in 2004. Russ Michna
Russell Walter Michna (born February 3, 1981) is a former arena football quarterback. A two-time league champion of the United Football League (UFL), he is the only player that has been signed to a team in every current major professional football league: National Football League (NFL), Canadian Football League (CFL), UFL and AFL. Michna also played in the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL). Michna played college football for Western Illinois University, leading the Leathernecks to back-to-back I-AA Playoff appearances. Ahmad Rashad Merritt (born February 5, 1977) is a former American football wide receiver. He was signed by the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2000. He played college football at Wisconsin. Merritt was also a member of the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Rush and Arizona Cardinals. Bob McMillen (American Football)
Robert James McMillen, Jr. (born October 28, 1970) is a former arena football fullback/linebacker and head coach. He was most recently the head coach of the Los Angeles Kiss of the Arena Football League (AFL). He played his college football at Benedictine University, Illinois-Benedictine, and was an AFL fullback/linebacker from 1995 to 2007. He began coaching the sport in 2010, first serving as an assistant for the Chicago Slaughter in 2010, as an assistant with the Rush in 2011, before being named head coach of the Rush in 2011. Pete McMahon (born October 15, 1981) is a former American football offensive lineman. He was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the sixth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He played college football at Iowa. McMahon has also been a member of the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Rush, New York Dragons and New England Patriots. Matthew Louis D’Orazio (born October 1, 1976) is a former American football quarterback who played in the Arena Football League (AFL). He played college football at Otterbein College. D'Orazio was a member of the Roanoke Steam, Rochester Brigade, Buffalo/Columbus Destroyers, Mohegan Wolves, Chicago Rush, Philadelphia Soul and Calgary Stampeders.
