The 2007 America East men's basketball tournament was held from March 2–4 at Agganis Arena. The final was held March 10 at Patrick Gym. The Albany Great Danes won the tournament to advance to their second consecutive berth in the NCAA tournament. The 2006–07 Albany Great Danes men's basketball team represented the University at Albany, SUNY in the 2006–07 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Great Danes, led by head coach Will Brown, played their home games at the SEFCU Arena in Albany, New York, as members of the America East Conference. After finishing 2nd in the conference regular season standings, the Great Danes won the America East tournament to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament as the 13th seed in the South region. Will Brown (basketball)
William J. Brown (born October 8, 1971) is an American basketball coach. He is the former head men's basketball coach at Albany, where he served from 2002 to 2021, guiding the Great Danes to five NCAA tournament appearances. Playing career Born in Miller Place, New York, Brown played collegiate basketball at Dowling College, starting for three years. He finished his career as the school's all-time leader in assists, three-point field goals and free-throw percentage, and is the only player in Dowling history to score 1,000 points and tally 500 assists. Coaching career Brown began his coaching career at The College of Saint Rose, serving as an assistant coach for three seasons. He then became the head coach at Sullivan County Community College, compiling a record of 90–10 in three seasons. Jamar J. Wilson (born February 22, 1984) is an American-Finnish professional basketball player for Boulazac Basket Dordogne of the LNB Pro B. Standing at , he plays at the point guard position. Agganis Arena
Agganis Arena is a 7,200-seat multi-purpose arena in Boston, Massachusetts, United States, on the campus of Boston University, built on the location of the former Commonwealth Armory. It is home to the five-time national champion Boston University Terriers men's ice hockey team. It is named after Harry Agganis, an outstanding football and baseball athlete for BU and the Boston Red Sox, who died at the age of 26 from a massive pulmonary embolism. A life-size bronze statue of Agganis sculpted by Armand LaMontagne stands outside the arena at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and Harry Agganis Way. 2006–07 Virginia Cavaliers Men's Basketball Team
The 2006–07 Virginia Cavaliers men's basketball team represented the University of Virginia during the 2006–07 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by second-year head coach Dave Leitao, and played their home games at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Virginia as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Cavaliers began the season with the opening of the John Paul Jones Arena and an upset of then-#10 Arizona. Despite returning all five starters from the previous campaign, the Cavaliers were picked to finish 8th place in the conference. 2007 National Invitation Tournament
The 2007 National Invitation Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 32 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I teams which did not participate in the 2007 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. The West Virginia University Mountaineers won the 2007 NIT. The participating teams were selected by the National Invitation Tournament (NIT) selection committee using numerous resources such as computer rankings, results (head-to-head, chronological, last 10 games played, non-conference), and polls. The first round, second round, and quarterfinal games are held at the home court of the higher seed. The semifinal and final round are played at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. Kansas State Wildcats Men's Basketball
The Kansas State Wildcats men's basketball team represents Kansas State University in college basketball competition. The program is classified in the NCAA Division I, and is a member of the Big 12 Conference. The head coach is Jerome Tang. The program began competition in 1902. America East Conference
The America East Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I founded in 1979, whose members are located in the Northeastern United States. The conference has nine core members including eight public research universities, three of which, the University of Maine, the University of New Hampshire, and the University of Vermont, are the flagship universities of their states. The two non-flagship university centers of the State University of New York are in the conference: the University at Albany and Binghamton University. Bryant University is the only private university among the core membership. Of the nine members, eight are located within the borders of 7 contiguous states. The ninth, UMBC, is the only institution outside this bloc of states.
