2006–07 Villanova Wildcats Men's Basketball Team
The 2006–07 Villanova Wildcats men's basketball team represented Villanova University in the 2006–07 college basketball season. Villanova was led by head coach Jay Wright. The Wildcats participated in the Big East Conference and played their home games at The Pavilion with some select home games at the Wachovia Center. They finished the season 22–11, 9–7 in Big East play. They received an at-large bid to the 2007 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, earning a 9 seed, where they lost to Kentucky in the first round. Big East Conference (1979–2013)
The Big East Conference was a collegiate athletics conference that consisted of as many as 16 universities in the eastern half of the United States from 1979 to 2013. The conference's members participated in 24 NCAA sports. The conference had a history of success at the national level in basketball throughout its history, while its shorter (1991 to 2013) football program, created by inviting one college and four other "associate members" (their football programs only) into the conference, resulted in two national championships. In basketball, Big East teams made 18 Final Four appearances and won 7 NCAA championships as Big East members through 2013 (UConn with three, Georgetown, Syracuse, Louisville and Villanova with one each). The 2006–07 Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball team represented the University of Iowa as members of the Big Ten Conference during the 2006–07 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by eighth-year head coach Steve Alford and played their home games at Carver–Hawkeye Arena. Xavier Musketeers Men's Basketball
The Xavier Musketeers men's basketball team represents Xavier University (Cincinnati), Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. The school's team currently competes in the Big East Conference, and are coached by Sean Miller. Northwood University (NU) is a private university focused on business education with its main campus in Midland, Michigan. Opened in 1959, more than 33,000 people have graduated from the institution. Curtis Sumpter (born January 30, 1984) is an American professional basketball player currently working as an assistant coach for the Delaware 87ers of the NBA G League. Will Sheridan Jr. (born January 12, 1985) is a former college basketball player who played for the Villanova Wildcats Men's Basketball program from 2003 to 2007. After graduation, he played as an international basketball player in Italy.
