2006–07 Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants Season
The 2006–07 Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants season was the 19th season of the franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). In the Philippine Cup, they finished fifth, and faced the Sta. Lucia Realtors in order to grab the 5th seed and prevent a wildcard round. In the semifinals, the Giants faced the TNT Tropang Giga, Talk 'N Text Phone Pals. In Game 1, Marc Pingris top-scored with 19 points to draw first blood. However, Pingris himself suffered a broken nose as the Giants were routed, due to a collision with Jimmy Alapag of the Phone Pals. At the ending moments of the game, Paul Artadi and Alapag had an altercation, and both were ejected from the game; Alapag himself was suspended for Game 3 for punching Artadi in the face, with Roger Yap also suspended and received penalty. Roger Yap
Rogelio "Roger" Yap (born August 3, 1977) is a Filipino former professional basketball player. He last played for the Manila Stars of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). He was drafted by Purefoods in 2001 as the ninth pick overall. He is also a former PBL MVP. He is known as a power point guard who can grab rebounds and has a great touch from the perimeter. He is best known for his playing years as the starting point guard with Purefoods, now known as San Mig Coffee. The 2006–07 Air21 Express season was the fifth season of the franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The season was notable for drafting future superstar Arwind Santos. In the Philippine Cup, the Express finished in the wildcard round-robin, and ended up against Sta. Lucia Realtors in a knock-out match for final quarterfinal slot, but lost. Ronnie Magsanoc
Ronald "Ronnie" Magsanoc (born April 11, 1966) is a Filipino coach, basketball analyst, and retired professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was known for his moniker "The Point Laureate". Koy Banal
Enrico "Koy" Banal, is a Filipino professional basketball head coach. Coaching career Prior to his first PBA coaching job, Banal has had extensive head coaching experience in the collegiate and amateur ranks. He called the shots for the PSBA Jaguars in the late 90s with ex-pro Warren Ybanez as his main man. From 2000-2004, he was the head coach of the FEU Tamaraws in the UAAP, bannered by future PBA MVP Arwind Santos, Denok Miranda, Mark Isip, Cesar Catli. Olan Omiping (born 1981/1982), known for his moniker as "The Sniper", is a Filipino policeman with the Police Officer II rank and a basketball player for the Philippine National Police Responders in the UNTV Cup. The Letran Knights basketball is the collegiate men’s basketball program of the Colegio de San Juan de Letran. The Knights have won 20 championships since joining the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). It is the second winningest team in the NCAA, just behind the San Beda Red Lions. Boyet Bautista is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Pasig Pirates of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL), and for the Armed Forces of the Philippines Cavaliers of the UNTV Cup.
