2006–07 National League A Season
The 2006–07 NLA season was the 69th regular season of the Nationalliga A (NLA), the main professional ice hockey league in Switzerland. New Rules There are a few changes of rules for the new season. 3-Point System For the first time an NLA season is run with a 3-point system. A team gets now 3 points for a win after 60 minutes, instead of 2. Overtime A tied game after 60 minutes results in an overtime Overtime is the amount of time someone works beyond normal working hours. The term is also used for the pay received for this time. Normal hours may be determined in several ways: *by custom (what is considered healthy or reasonable by society) ... of 5 minutes, which is played 4 vs. 4 (this is not a rule change). National League A
The National League (NL) is a professional ice hockey league in Switzerland and is the top tier of the Swiss league system. Prior to the 2017–18 season, the league was known as National League A. During the 2018–19 season, the league had an average of 6,949 spectators per game which is the highest among European leagues (ahead of the KHL with 6,397 and the DEL with 6,215). The capital city's club SC Bern has been ranked first of all European clubs for 18 seasons and had an average attendance of 16,290 after the regular season. The ZSC Lions are another club in the top ten of European ice hockey attendance, ranking seventh with 9,694 spectators. Season structure During the regular season, each of the 14 teams play 52 games. The top eight teams after the regular season qualify for the playoffs to determine the Swiss champion in best-of-seven series. SCL Tigers
SC Langnau Tigers are a professional ice hockey team from Langnau im Emmental, Switzerland. They play in the National League (NL). The team plays its home games in the 6,000-seat Ilfis Stadium, which is currently one of the smallest arenas in the NL. History Originally formed as the Ice skating club Langnau, the team was founded on 30 January 1946. The 1948–49 season started in the summer due to the planing on the grounds of the Napro, where the ice rink was to be built. The ice rink began operation on 26 December 1948. SC Langnau, who had not yet completed any championship games, secured the "Begert Cup". Nine out of 16 games were won. The game against Rotblau Bern was attended by over 1000 spectators. SC Langnau participated for the first time within the Swiss Championship, starting in the lowest league stage of the Swiss ice hockey. Mariusz Czerkawski
Mariusz Krzysztof Czerkawski (pronounced ; born 13 April 1972) is a Polish former professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Boston Bruins, Edmonton Oilers, New York Islanders, Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs. In addition to playing in the NHL, Czerkawski played for several different European-based teams. A consistent scorer, Czerkawski was the first player born and trained in Poland to play in the NHL. Internationally, Czerkawski represented Poland at several international tournaments, including the 1992 Winter Olympics and the 1992 and 2002 World Championships. Josef Marha
Josef Marha (born 2 June 1976) is a Czech former professional ice hockey player. Playing career Marha played in the National Hockey League for the Colorado Avalanche, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and the Chicago Blackhawks, playing 159 regular season games with 21 goals and 32 assists for 53 points, picking up 32 penalty minutes. On the Chicago Blackhawks, he was commonly referred to at the 'Captain of the 4th Line'. He was drafted 35th overall by the Quebec Nordiques in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. Marha left the NHL to join HC Davos of the Swiss National League A (NLA) in 2001. He spent the next 12 years of his professional career, capturing 5 league titles with Davos, before announcing his retirement at the conclusion of the clubs involvement in the 2012–13 season on March 17, 2013. Serge Aubin
Serge D. Aubin (born February 15, 1975) is a Canadian ice hockey coach and a former professional ice hockey centre who played 374 games in the National Hockey League for the Colorado Avalanche, Columbus Blue Jackets and Atlanta Thrashers. He is currently serving as head coach of Eisbären Berlin in the German DEL. Playing career Aubin was drafted in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, 7th Round, 161st Overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins. He spent his junior years playing in the QMJHL, playing for the Drummondville Voltigeurs and the Granby Bisons. Until 1999, Aubin was mostly playing for the NHL's farm league, having only played one NHL game for the Colorado Avalanche. Domenic Pittis
Domenico Pittis (born October 1, 1974) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. He is currently an assistant coach with the Calgary Wranglers in the American Hockey League (AHL). Playing career As a youth, Pittis played in the 1988 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Calgary. He was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second round (52nd overall) of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. After playing three seasons with the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League and three more in the International Hockey League, Pittis appeared in one game in the NHL with the Penguins during the 1996–97 season. Michel Riesen
Michel Riesen (born April 11, 1979) is a Swiss former professional ice hockey winger. Most of his career, which lasted from 1994 to 2014, was spent in the Swiss Nationalliga A, though he also played 12 games in the National Hockey League with the Edmonton Oilers during the 2000–01 season. Internationally Riesen played for the Swiss national team in several junior tournaments and three World Championships. After retiring he turned to coaching, and has worked at the junior levels in Switzerland since 2015. Oleg Petrov
Oleg Viktorovich Petrov (''Олег Викторович Петров''; born April 18, 1971) is a Russian former ice hockey right winger. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) between 1992 and 2003. Professional career Petrov was drafted 127th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft and became the first Russian to play for the team. He played in 382 career NHL games, scoring 72 goals and 115 assists for 187 points. The most goals he ever scored in a single season in the NHL was 24 and the most points he ever achieved was 47. He won a Stanley Cup in 1993 with the Montreal Canadiens; however, he did not play enough games to officially qualify, so his name was not put on the Stanley Cup. Hnat A. Domenichelli (born February 16, 1976) is a Canadian-Swiss former professional ice hockey player of Ukrainian descent. He was drafted by the Hartford Whalers in the fourth round, 83rd overall, of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. He played 267 National Hockey League (NHL) games for the Whalers, Calgary Flames, Atlanta Thrashers and Minnesota Wild between 1996 and 2003 before moving to Switzerland where he has played for the remainder of his career in the National League A. He played for Switzerland at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Domenichelli is currently the general manager of HC Lugano of the National League (NL). Jean-Guy Trudel
Jean-Guy Andre Trudel (born October 18, 1975) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left winger. He played five games in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Phoenix Coyotes and the Minnesota Wild. Trudel is currently the head coach of the Peoria Rivermen in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). He is also in charge of the Peoria Youth Hockey Association. Christian Dubé (ice Hockey)
Christian Dubé (born April 25, 1977) is a Canadian/ Swiss ice hockey executive and former professional right winger. He is currently the sports director of HC Fribourg-Gottéron in the Swiss National League A. Biography Dubé was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec. He is the son of former pro hockey player Norm Dubé. As a youth, Dubé played in the 1990 and 1991 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments with a minor ice hockey team from Sherbrooke.
