2006–07 FC Bayern Munich Season
Bayern Munich went into the 2006–07 season with head coach Felix Magath. On 1 February 2007, Magath was sacked after disappointing domestic results including a third round exit from the cup. His predecessor, Ottmar Hitzfeld, was appointed to be his successor, too. Results Bundesliga Bayern hosted Borussia Dortmund in the opener of the 44th Bundesliga season on 11 August 2006. On the last day of play, on 19 May 2007, they won against Mainz 05, finishing in the fourth place, a position they held almost all through the second half of the season. The fourth-place finish qualified Bayern for the 2007–08 UEFA Cup. DFB-Pokal Champions League Bayern was qualified for the 2006–07 UEFA Champions League. 2007–08 UEFA Cup
The 2007–08 UEFA Cup was the 37th edition of the UEFA Cup, UEFA's second-tier club football tournament. The final was played at the City of Manchester Stadium, Manchester, England on 14 May 2008 between Rangers of Scotland and Zenit Saint Petersburg of Russia. Zenit won the match 2–0, with goals from Igor Denisov and Konstantin Zyryanov, to claim their first UEFA Cup title. The first qualifying games were played on 19 July 2007 and the main tournament commenced on 20 September 2007. A total of 123 football clubs took part in the tournament (including its qualifying rounds). Each European football nation is represented by a different number of its associate clubs, depending on the UEFA coefficients. Mike Hanke
Mike Hanke (; born 5 November 1983) is a German former professional footballer who played the position of forward. He has been described as a player who "gives it his all in attack and is always dangerous in the opponent's penalty area." He earned 17 caps for the Germany national team between 2005 and 2007, and was in the teams which finished third at the 2005 Confederations Cup and 2006 World Cup on home soil. Sascha Dum (born 3 July 1986) is a German former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Dum signed a three-year professional contract with Bayer 04 Leverkusen in January 2005. Alemannia Aachen () or ATSV Alemannia 1900 is a football in Germany, German football club from the western city of Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia. A long term fixture of the country's 2. Mark Peter Gertruda Andreas van Bommel (born 22 April 1977) is a Dutch football coach and former player who played as a midfielder. He is currently the manager of Belgian side Royal Antwerp. Jonas Kamper (born 3 May 1983) is a retired Danish footballer who played as a right winger and current U19 manager of Kolding IF. Artur Mikołaj Wichniarek (, born 28 February 1977) is a Polish former professional footballer who played as a striker. Having established himself in the Ekstraklasa with Widzew Łódź, Wichniarek moved to Germany in 1999 to join Bundesliga club Arminia Bielefeld. Good performances at Arminia Bielefeld earned him a move to Hertha BSC where he did not become a regular starter. He returned to Arminia Bielefeld in 2006.
