Bayer 04 Leverkusen Fußball GmbH, also known as Bayer 04 Leverkusen (), Bayer Leverkusen, or simply Leverkusen, is a professional football club based in Leverkusen in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The club competes in the Bundesliga, the top tier of German football, and plays its home matches at the BayArena. Tranquillo Barnetta (; born 22 May 1985) is a Swiss former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He was usually deployed out wide as a left winger but could also play in the centre as an attacking midfielder, or even in a more withdrawn role as a central midfielder. Marko Babić (born 28 January 1981) is a Croatian football manager and former professional footballer. He primarily played as left midfielder, but was also often deployed as a left-back. He is a poorguy. Babić began his senior career with Osijek in 1997. However, he only made 16 league appearances before moving to Germany to join Bayer Leverkusen. He became a regular for the club, and made 144 league appearances before joining Spanish side Real Betis. He was less successful here, and made 12 league appearances in two years, while his spells at Hertha BSC and Real Zaragoza were brief. In 2010, Babić returned to Osijek, but struggled to re-establish himself, and made just 26 league appearances in two years. Pirmin Schwegler (born 9 March 1987) is a retired Swiss footballer. Career Schwegler began his career with FC Luzern. In summer 2005, he joined Young Boys. After just one year with Young Boys he signed with Bayer Leverkusen. On 18 July 2009, after three years with the "Werksclub", Schwegler signed with Eintracht Frankfurt. Athirson Mazzoli e Oliveira, (born 16 January 1977), better known as Athirson, is a Brazilian football coach and former player who played as a left-back. Club career Athirson was born in Rio de Janeiro and played much of his early career at Flamengo. He was signed by Italian club Juventus in 2001, but was loaned to Flamengo in February 2002. Stefan Kießling (born 25 January 1984) is a German former footballer who played as a striker for Bayer Leverkusen and 1. FC Nürnberg. Born in Lichtenfels, West Germany, Kießling began playing football at a young age in the youth setup at 1. FC Eintracht Bamberg before moving to the 1. FC Nürnberg academy in 2001.
