2006–07 Albany Great Danes Men's Basketball Team
The 2006–07 Albany Great Danes men's basketball team represented the University at Albany, SUNY in the 2006–07 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Great Danes, led by head coach Will Brown, played their home games at the SEFCU Arena in Albany, New York, as members of the America East Conference. After finishing 2nd in the conference regular season standings, the Great Danes won the America East tournament to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament as the 13th seed in the South region. Will Brown (basketball)
William J. Brown (born October 8, 1971) is an American basketball coach. He is the former head men's basketball coach at Albany, where he served from 2002 to 2021, guiding the Great Danes to five NCAA tournament appearances. Playing career Born in Miller Place, New York, Brown played collegiate basketball at Dowling College, starting for three years. He finished his career as the school's all-time leader in assists, three-point field goals and free-throw percentage, and is the only player in Dowling history to score 1,000 points and tally 500 assists. Coaching career Brown began his coaching career at The College of Saint Rose, serving as an assistant coach for three seasons. He then became the head coach at Sullivan County Community College, compiling a record of 90–10 in three seasons. Urbandale is a city in Polk and Dallas counties, Iowa, United States. As of the 2020 U.S. Census, the city population was 45,580. It is part of the Des Moines–West Des Moines Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Urbandale was incorporated as a city on April 16, 1917. In its early days, Urbandale served as a streetcar suburb of Des Moines with four coal mines. The MVP Arena (originally Knickerbocker Arena, and then the Pepsi Arena and Times Union Center) is an indoor arena located in Albany, New York.
